This is a new place so it was very clean and nice. They give you chips and salsa at a seafood place so that was a little odd then I got to looking at the menu and realized that it’s a seafood slash Mexican restaurant. I got the shrimp tacos and was a little disappointed in the shrimp as they were pretty small and I thought that they precooked bagged shrimp. The mango salsa on the tacos was really good. I also had a cheese quesadilla that was really good. Now there was a family in there that had ordered a seafood boil platter that looked amazing and I wish I had ordered it. I will give them another try.

These reviews never cease to amaze me, this is Mexican Seafood and anyone who doesn’t think it’s mexican or seafood needs to do some research. Also, someone else said the food tasted frozen, well… we don’t exactly live on the Ohio Sea do we? I don’t know what they have in their freezer but what I do know is any of the many many times my family has ate here, nothing tasted anything less than fresh. I truly hope the community realizes what they have here and supports its growth. This could really be an amazing spot if the small town doesn’t kill it with close mindedness.

I came in because it was the only place open on Sunday on the Carrollton downtown river front. But wow was I pleasantly surprised with the great food. They have a lot more than “just” shrimp and seafood. I ordered the Chicken Casadia. (Pictured). More chicken than cheese which is a good thing. Guacamole was fresh and home made. With chips and salsa on the side. The customer Wi-Fi was blazing Fast as well. (>400 mb/s).
I visited by river and my Sunday visit to Carrollton would have been a bust if this place wasn’t open. The Tourism council should thank this establishment for the warm welcome we received.

You would think with a name like Mr, Shrimp, you would see a lot of seafood offerings. There are also lots of ocean friendly decorations. This was our first visit and we were looking forward to seafood primarily because of the name.
But when we say down we are brought salsa and chips. That was the first clue. To introduce yourself with salsa you would think it should be memorable. It wasn’t. Only one very mild “salsa ” was provided. Nothing to hang your name on.
The menu was not easy to interpret. The pictures of selections didn’t have a corresponding menu selection next to it. And there were many Mexican (I think) selections that had no picture and were described with bland descriptions. But the prices were what you would expect from a more high end restaurant. We had a coconut shrimp appetizer and split a ‘seafood’ fajita with two waters and spent $48 before tip. The coconut shrimp was good. The dipping sauce tasted store bought as did the fajita sides. The fajita was bland. I was hoping for a signature flavor that would be memorable and tease me to come back and try something else.
The space was nicely decorated as you would see in a very seafood focused restaurant. I doubt we’ll go back. No mystery or story here. The owner was very nice. We’ll see if she can find her niche.

Just had a delicious dinner at Mr. Shrimp in Carrollton KY. Food is fresh, we’ll prepared and authentic. Both the seafood and the Mexican food are great. The staff was very friendly and responsive. We were a table of six and we’re all served together and quickly.

Stumbled upon this place after a cold and rainy golf tournament at Belterra. It was late Saturday night, about an hour to closing. All of us, 6 adults and two boys (10 &13), were greeted warmly and despite nearing closing time, they were happy we were there. Had a lovely chat with an owner about his move to Carrollton from California and making a go of his new business. It was a pleasant surprise that it was a Mexican seafood restaurant! The service was very prompt. Chips and salsa came right away and was refilled. We ordered a variety of menu items…My husband and I split the seafood fajitas. The meal was plenty, hot, fresh and well cooked. Delicious! Others had the steak and chicken fajitas, salad, fish and chips, chimichanga, and hot wings. Everyone gave their dishes 5 stars and ate every bite. The restaurant is on a cute and, what looked like, revitalized, riverfront Main Street. It’d be nice to see it in the daylight. The restaurant was clean and bright, as were the restrooms. The decor was cute and beachy. We had a great experience and would go back when in Carrollton, KY!

My fiancée and I went to have a seafood dinner. We arrived and took a seat and as we looked over the menu we realized this was a Mexican restaurant that had a few items that was seafood. So we had our ❤️s set on seafood so we left. But I’ve heard their food is good as far as a Mexican restaurant. The waitress was very friendly.

It’s more of a Mexican restaurant than “seafood” as the name says. It’s a Mexican place that happens to have some seafood dishes. The fish tacos were pretty good though. Service was attentive and friendly. The theme of the restaurant is cool though, setup like an ocean.

Good food but definitely more of a Mexican place that specializes in seafood than a straight up seafood place. Excellent service and tasty food but the shrimp are not deveined and most dishes are served with the heads and shells still on. Still waiting on liquor license but the horchata is excellent!
