The kind of place you almost don’t want to tell people about because it feels like your own hidden gem. Mr. Shawarma is one of those spots in Pensacola that quietly delivers big flavor without the fuss. And, it’s a sweet little spot to savor lunch just with your Darling.
From the first bite, you can tell the ingredients are fresh and prepared with care. The chicken is seasoned beautifully — tender, flavorful, and cooked just right so every bite is balanced. The rice is amazing but hands down the best falafel and baklava!! The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and everything tastes like it was made to order, not sitting around waiting.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming — clean, comfortable, and perfect whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down for a relaxed meal. Service is friendly and efficient, and you get the sense they genuinely care about what they’re serving.
Pensacola has no shortage of places to eat, but this is the kind of place you return to because it’s consistent, satisfying, and simply good every single time.

Greeted as soon as we walked in, the owner was very proud of his wife’s cooking, AS HE SHOULD BE! This food is wonderful! We enjoyed single order beef Shawarma wraps, comes with fries and 2 sides we had hummus and baba ghannoug. Had a side of grape leaves and tatziki as well. Everything was freshly made and worth every penny! Will be back

Mr shawarma is the goat – beef shawarma was amazing combo of anything a guy can want – meat and rice. The white sauce was also phenomenal – I wish I had some on my chicken and rice the other day though

We just moved here from California and were looking for Mediterranean food! While out running errands we came across this place! So happy that we did because the food was amazing! We got a chicken shawarma bowl and beef shawarma wrap! The flavor is amazing! The meat is super moist and flavorful! We will be back!

Give them a try! Always looks closed (from the outside at night) even when they’re open. And the inside is a little tacky, but the food and service is excellent!

This place is hands down one of the best places to eat period! My husband and I were passing through the town and decided to try this place out. He got a beef kabob meal and I got a chicken shawarma with a lentil soup. The food was outstanding both in quality and quantity and flavours. I was very impressed! The place is a small mom-pop joint and has a very warm feel and is clean and tidy. We initially thought we will do a takeout but we ended up eating in. The server, looked like the owners daughter was very pleasant and patient with us as we decided what we wanted to get. She greeted us with a smile and was very courteous. We are definitely coming back here in the next couple of days we are here.

Customer service was great. I got my food quickly. I ordered the chicken shawarma and it was lightly seasoned but the garlic sauce took it to the next level! I ordered chicken nuggets for my kid and she really liked them.

Cute & delicious little Mediterranean restaurant. The prices are good, food is delicious, and service is great! I ordered a falafel sandwich (wrap) that was very good. This is the perfect place to go for lunch break because the food comes out so quickly. Very clean and they require employees to wear masks and gloves.

Very friendly service! Good food especially the grape leaf rolls. Baklava was fantastic. Not the super sticky honey sweet I’ve had before. The hummus is very tender and tasty. Now all this being said, all you can get is chicken. There is none of the traditional lamb here so if you’re looking for real middle eastern cuisine I’m sorry. Even what you do get is toned down for the American taste and I hate that. I’ve had the real stuff and I was just a tiny bit disappointed. But if you like the chicken you’re in luck. Enjoy!

Mr. Shawarma was a FABULOUS, although unplanned, stop on our cross country drive that ended up being the best part of our day! It’s not easy to feed a family with different dietary needs while on the road – one picky carnivore, one dieting carnivore and a vegetarian, but Mr. Shawarma delivered BIG! They also offer halal meat, alcoholic beverages, contact-free pick up, delivery and catering.
Order: Do yourself a favor and order the Garlic Creme sauce! We did everything but lick the container, lol. I ordered the vegetarian Falafel wrap served on the most delicious warm pita I’ve ever eaten! My husband ordered the Chicken Shawarma Power Bowl served with rice (or on salad upon request), Chicken Shawarma, Feta cheese, Chickpea Hummus and thin shaved onion slices. The kid ordered the Lamb Gyro served on pita bread with Lamb, Tzatziki sauce, Romain lettuce shreds and the Tomato and shaved Onion on the side. The presentation was simple, the prices and portion sizes were fair and the food was magnificent!
Pros: Mr. Shawarma has the sweetest staff… very thoughtful to customers. Check out the Family and Friends picture wall hanging in the hallway. The dining area is a bit on the smaller side, but has everything you’d need to enjoy a great meal. There’s a few tables, a cooler offering specialty drinks and even high chairs for the littles. There’s a small single person bathroom at the end of a long hallway that was clean and well kept. Don’t let the strip mall location or tired decor in this little hole in the wall restaurant put you off. When the line is out the door, you know you’ve stumbled upon something special! They also cater for family get-togethers or parties. We can’t wait to go back soon.
Cons: Check the hours of operation before you go as they open a bit late at 11:00am and close early by 8:00pm. Consider calling ahead for your order to avoid long wait times. During our 45 min dinner, we saw many people lining up to order takeout food as well as many driver’s picking up meals for delivery.
