Just a wonderful surprise when it was brought to a meeting. First time trying their king cake and I made sure to get seconds. It was so light and just right on the sugar/glaze. It was made with love for sure! I also fell hard for the king cake donuts. I’ve had 6 different king cakes (including the cult fav DP) from all over the city so far but this one took the top spot! Bravo.

When I walked in I felt like I was in heaven, some might say I might be exaggerating but everything about the place was amazing! It was my first time eating from there, me personally I love my jelly donuts and my strawberry sprinkled donuts. And everything looked SO appetizing I wanted to eat everything in there!! Every time I pass through I have to make a stop at Mr. Ronnie’s. They always have the best donuts and I’m sad I can’t get them more often. The rest of their food is also delicious. During Mardi gras this year I also locked up a king cake from them and it did not disappoint! Staff and owners are always very friendly. Definitely recommend!

My disappointment is immeasurable. This has been my favorite donut shop all of my life. I dont know what changed after Mr Ronnie died, but the glazed donuts have lost their soul. The glaze itself tasted like it was homemade, I couldnt find this flavor anywhere else. Every donut shop I’d been to since then could never compete. I dont live in Louisiana anymore so I rarely get to have these donuts, and it was always a treat to be able to.
Today, as well as the last time I had these donuts about a year ago, did not measure up to what I’d come to expect. The glaze is thick and bland. It tastes the same as the glaze you could find at any ordinary mediocre donut shop. The donut box is no longer this small cute box with brand print. Its just a cheep walmart/heb donut box with a Mr Ronnie’s sticker slapped on (Im not joking, you can peel it off.)
This place has seriously fallen from grace. I don’t know if I’ll ever get donuts from here again unless they start doing it like they used to. The only saving grace is how cute the interior still is, but beware of cleanliness problems mentioned by other reviewers. Theyre probably usually short staffed and unable to keep on top of it

Positive, Productive & Peaceful
This place is unreal! You literally can’t just get a dozen that is how amazing the variety is and the staff is just as sweet as the dough! Good lord it is worth the trip to Houma! The wedding cake and the pumpkin spice were highlights for me, but honestly all of the flavored cake doughnuts were phenomenal. When the sign is lit they have hot fresh melt in your mouth glazed too! Definitely one of the best doughnut shops I’ve tried anywhere! When you’re down the bayou and craving sugar, Ronnie’s is where it’s at!

I love getting my donuts there. I love the glaze they are always fresh and hot. The atmosphere is nice they keep it clean and they also have poker machines. The staff is very helpful.
