First time eating here in a long time. The breakfast was good and the grits were very creamy and tasty. The helpings were plentiful.

My wife had the French toast and fruit. She said it was very good. She ordered it from the kids menu and it was plenty for her.

The waitress did a great job and was very friendly.

We will come back.

This is an excellent place to go. The food is absolutely amazing. Service is great….. as a restaurant need to stay on the coffe making though….. lol or would of gotten 5 stars. Coffee is as important as the food to me…. waitress was Renee. She did a good job. She is experienced and polite. Would of tipped more if she would not have avoided eye contact a couple times. She might have been waiting for the coffee to be made again. Lol

I had breakfast here this morning and the service was great Dustin, my server was amazing. With a welcoming atmosphere. I really appreciated that they had some gluten-friendly options, and the meal looked amazing (photos attached).

However, I have a Gluten Allergy and unfortunately something in my meal possibly the grits or sausage must’ve been cross-contaminated, because I’ve been feeling pretty nauseous since. I’d love to see more clearly labeled certified gluten-free options in the future and extra precautions in the kitchen for those of us who are sensitive.

Also, want to add I was seated at the bar & I couldn’t comfortably sit because the bar chairs were to high

Great vibe overall, but not fully safe yet for gluten-free guests.

Don’t let the name fool you, this is a “farm to table” establishment. It’s the kind of place where you will pay more and get less (in quantity and variety), but that should be because of higher quality.
That method works well when the food is good, but when it is not, it becomes a very bad experience.
I ordered the chicken biscuit breakfast for myself, which comes with a biscuit, chicken patties on that biscuit, gravy, and breakfast potatoes. I requested no gravy.
The biscuit itself was pretty good, but both the chicken and the potatoes were awful. They were severely overcooked. The chicken tasted burnt and was discolored from how overcooked it was. It looked more like a fast foot “breakfast steak” with how shrunken and dark it was. The potatoes were overcooked so hard that I had trouble getting my fork into some of them as well as tasting burnt. When I asked others who also had the potatoes, they also said the same, so it was not just my order.
The service was reasonably good, but there were some points where we had to wait longer than I would expect for a higher class establishment. My simple rule is that my drink shouldn’t be empty for any period of time, and it was.

We absolutely love Mr. Rivers so much! My husband is obsessed with the sausage gravy and I’m equally obsessed with the vegetable gravy. I have never had anything like it.
Virginia is the absolute sweetest as well! She is always so pleasant when I come in.

Food was amazing and so was the staff. I also love the historical look of the really old building that it’s in. They definitely did very well capturing the history while making it functional for being a very successful little restaurant in downtown Anderson

If you’re looking for a great breakfast spot downtown Anderson, this is it. My wife and I had the farmers breakfast. The homefries were cooked all the way through and had a crunchy, fried exterior. The homemade biscuit was buttery and delicious. The pork sausage was fresh and definitely not a frozen patty. The coffee was also great, I believe they serve summa joes coffee. The service was also outstanding. Come try this place out.

I was unsure when walking up to the building, but as soon as I opened the door and saw all the people I thought, this is going to be GOOD! And it was! I ordered biscuits n Gravy. The Gravy had a great amount of sausage and great flavor. Biscuit was light n fluffy. Also had grits with cheese. They were so flavorful and creamy. Thought I’d add a little protein with an over medium egg. Perfect. I ate every bite.My server was excellent as well. I plants return for lunch soon.
