What happened to Mr. Pickle?

Was our favorite sandwich spot in the area. They had delicious sandwichs and the cost was average. It looks like the cost went up quite a bit and the portions are smaller. But the worst part was the quality. My wife and I got a sandwich today. They have three sizes, mini being the smallest. I got the middle one, my wife got the mini. It was like 9.50 for a mini and 11.50 for the middle one. Basically like a 4in and 6in. I got a pathetic version of a cheese steak. They should remove this from the menu as anyone who is looking for a cheese steak would be upset with it. It was very light, like maybe half of what would be expected from another sandwich place. The worst part was that it was not edible. I was almost disgusted and had to throw mine away and get something to eat elsewhere. My wife rarely complains, especially about sandwiches but she also said I don’t think we should come back here anymore. Been going to this location for many years and it’s kind of sad to see how far they have fallen. There are not a lot of good food options in the area that we like so it is really disappointing to lose one of our go to spots when we want a sandwich.

Worst sandwich I’ve had at a Pickles. The sandwich was incredibly bland and the bread was so dry I ended up throwing the sandwich away.
I won’t be returning to this location.

First time visiting. Got a ham kids sandwich which included a cookie and applesauce, half turkey and half bbq chicken. All fresh ingredients. Very friendly staff. Nice lunch, not bad for under $20 bucks at all and they gave us each a cookie too! Will definitely be back again…

The sandwiches here are great and easily the best in the area. I’ve been coming for years because nowhere else has good quality ingredients.

But damn, they’re expensive. For what you get, it’s basically a fancy snack. The portions are small, and if you go for the full sized meal deal, you’re easily dropping $20 to $30.

The staff? Always look like they hate being there. Grumpy, checked out, and they’ll forget little important things like the bacon on a turkey-bacon-avocado, hah, at least they never forget the cookie.

At the end of the day, if you’re craving a damn good sandwich and can stomach the overpriced, low effort vibe, it’s worth hitting up once in a while.

This is upsetting! It’ 3/16/25 and these are my experiences recorded. They had me fooled into believing thinking my bag contained the macaroni salad I ordered to side with the “Hang Loose” sandwich w/ Dutch Crunch Roll bread. This only came to my attention soon after opening my bag when I came home to Stockton To think that I should’ve walked in with more skeptism about the staff working there, indicating a clear sign of unprofessionalism. To have confidence in a business it starts with having good customer service/professionalism. I’ve had no negative experiences till now, so I walked in with the confidence of them fufilling my order. At around 4:15pm – 4:25pm, I came in to pick up the $4.49 Macoroni Salad and $20 sandwich. The woman working there had me believe the bag contained both items. Even after the fact that I signaled her using a gesture, “the go to box fingers”, while I was asking about it. Rightfully so, I had recieved help from Grubhub support and initated a refund. Please do not have blind faith people and ward out for any incompetence in an establishment. If we cannot trust the service, then we have to check our orders every time we go to Mr Pickles at Manteca, CA. The sandwich was satisfactory, but unsatisfactory by defualt. I will probably not revisit any time soon.

$22 for a sandwich is highway robbery. The audacity of these places is absolutely appalling. How can one Sandwich cost more then what you pay your workers an hour. You know it’s sad when you’d have to work at Mr. pickles for two hours to afford one sandwich… $22 get real. Your greediness is showing…

I came in during my lunch, deciding if I should go to In n Out or try something else. So I picked Mr. Pickles.. First time ever, and the service was pretty good. Tried out The Hero sandwich with Dutch bread, and added mustard onto it. Best sandwich I’ve had in a long time.

The girl who made it was sweet, and she did a really good job on making my food. I couldn’t get her name but I thank you regardless. The people working there had good attitudes at the time, and that made me come out of my shell to try something new. Keep up the good work guys, I appreciate you all. ^_^

Sincerely, that guy.

This is one of my favorite sandwich places but lately its been pretty hit or miss. The only issue is the portion of the meat, its either a good portion or hardly any. I try to be understanding because of inflation and all but it’s been pretty disappointing. Also the second to last time I ordered they put so much mustard on my sandwich it was dripping out. And the most recent time they didn’t toast the bread and gave me the wrong chips. Every time i go I always ask for extra garlic sauce on the sandwich, they almost never put extra on and sometimes they don’t put any at all! $20 for a sandwich and drink and the employees can’t even properly put a sandwich together, it’s not calculus

Mr. Pickle’s is one of our favorite sandwich spots. The sandwiches are always super fresh and packed with ingredients, they never skimp. Everything tastes great, from the bread to the meats and toppings. Portions are big enough to fill you up, and the service is always friendly and fast. It’s the kind of place you go once and end up coming back to all the time.
