I hesitated to try Mr. Papaya after hearing there were new owners, but I’m so glad I did—this place absolutely delivers.

The papaya salad is on point: perfectly balanced, bold, and fresh, just the way it should be. The boat noodles are rich and comforting, with deep flavor that keeps you going back for more. And the laab? So good—bright, savory, and done right.

If you’ve been unsure about stopping by, consider this your sign. Mr. Papaya is worth the visit, and I’ll definitely be back.

Plus they have ceiling fans now.

Went there last year on feb 14 2024. Wait for 45 minutes almost 1 hour. Poor service. Small food quality. Expensive price. Never went there again and only accept cash.

A waitress didn’t give me the menu and decided to give another customer a old man who was just rude to interpret us. The waitress didn’t come back for at least 45 min. I was about to leave to in 1 hour with no food arrived. Within 1 hour food arrive with small quantities and charge me quite high. Never going back there and telling my friends and family they are super rude and having poor services.

If you are looking for a “hole in the wall” restaurant that serves good food, you found it. You know when it’s authentic food when service is not what you expect from a popular Americanized chain restaurant. The server was impatient with us when we were not ready to place our order. He seemed annoyed. He probably assumed that I knew what I wanted. The AC was broken so we had our meal in the warm humid atmosphere. The bathrooms were dingy and old. That’s all the negatives with this restaurant. But, FOOD IS AMAZING. Most authentic food I have had in a long time. See pictures. Pepper is standard. You don’t get to pick how spicy you want it. If it’s too spicy, scoop some pepper off before incorporating. It’s CASH ONLY! While waiting in line to pay for our meals, a large group came and picked up 5 large trays of laab and fried rice for catering. That’s when you know it’s good. I will go again when I am back in town.

I remember eating here when I was a kid and the food still tastes delicious. I got the Thai boat noodles and it had the right amount of spice and the broth was so flavorful. My favorite place to get Thai boat noodles now.

With the new ownership, the food was still great as ever. My favorite was the pork belly and sticky rice. The nam va was good as well. It was a delicious dessert after all the spice I had. The new people working were kind and attentive. I would come back again.

Great place to eat. Their food is very authentic with lots of variety. The menu is large so take your time selecting something you feel like eating.

The staff are friendly and can help find someone you are wanting to eat.

It is cash only, so make sure to have some cash with you.

Service is very slow and poor. Waited quite awhile to get our order taken and had to wait an additional 30-35 minutes to get our food. Had to ask for our water twice which we didn’t get until we were eating. Was also waiting for my smoothie which I wasn’t served until I was already almost done eating. Pho was not hot and was tasteless you can barely taste the beef flavor. The noodles were also breaking apart. Didn’t get our papaya until we were almost finish eating already to. I order the papaya mix with a little kapoon noodle inside but it was literally all kapoon noodles only barely any papaya. Was a very long and disappointing visit will probably be my last time eating there. Prices on the menu are also not updated. Bathroom is dirty and place was very unsanitary and stuffy. ALSO! If you do plan to eat here, call ahead of time to cause they close and open whenever they want to.

I ordered the Pho which came with beef flank, meatballs, and brisket.

It was a very delicious pho which had Lao and Thai flavor that was a little touch different than the Vietnamese pho.

I also enjoyed their locally grown fresh sugarcane juice. Nam Oui
