My son and I went there for lunch. The food was excellent. The salsa was the best! The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Our food was prepared quickly. It was hot and delicious. I ordered the Arroz Con Pollo lunch portion I brought home about half of it. The portions were generous and well worth the price. My son had the Papi Tacos (deep fried tacos) lunch portion. He said they were delicious ( there wasn’t any leftovers). He did stop short of licking the plate clean.

My husband and I just moved here from St Louis, and we were looking for a good Mexican restaurant as it is one of our favorite restaurants to go eat at. I loved the atmosphere, the staff are extremely friendly, uplifting, fast servers, the young woman at the bar made a fantastic frozen Margarita and the food was amazing!! This is definitely our new place.

I’ve been loyal to one particular Mexican restaurant for a very long time, that all changed today. This place is absolutely fantastic, the food was amazing and we will absolutely be back. Blows my former favorite out of the water, highly recommend. I got the Suprema Quesadilla and my husband got the enchiladas supremas.
Edited to add: We’ve been here around a dozen times now, and we always order the same two things as the first time. It’s always excellent, and the consistency in quality is mind blowing. We’ve never been disappointed.

I have heard amazing things about this restaurant and while visiting family thought I would visit to try the food since I heard so many accolades about it.
First- 5 stars for ambiance and the outdoor seating area! Love love love the outside seating and the feel of it all!
We did order-pickup. What brought the rating down to 2 stars?!?!?
2 things:
I was put off with the waitress giving me an open margarita (no lid) to take to-go. I asked “don’t you have to seal this since we are taking it to go?” She said “you can do what you want with it” and winked at me. I felt very VERY uncomfortable with this, and we asked for a lid and a plastic bag to wrap the cup in, and we placed the cup in the trunk just in case we got stopped for any reason on the way home. I feel like this practice truly borders illegal, but I am not an IL resident, so I am not fully sure how this works. However, I find it strange that a restaurant that offers to-go alcohol does not have some safe container method to provide to customers. In addition, I was charged for a 32oz margarita- the margarita was 16oz at best.
The other reason for the 2-star rating….to be honest the food is not that great. I don’t know if the raving about the food is due to a lack of variety in this area, so this place is the best of what is offered? I don’t know. It was not the worst, but by far, not the best.
And watch out, because they add a takeout charge to your receipt (without telling you)…which kind of blew my mind since I am sure takeout is overall cheaper for the restaurant than eat in due to no dirty dishes etc.
Disappointed.

The food, as always, was very good. Best Mexican food in the area, IMHO. The service was quick and friendly. The margaritas were very good. The only issue, and this was NOT the fault if the restaurant, was the couple behind us had a child that was screaming incessantly. I mean like screaming at the top of their lungs. While the parents sat there. Look, I’ve got 3 grown kids, and if you have kids you know when they’re tired. Just don’t go out at that time. And sometimes kids throw a curve ball, and get belligerent when they feel like it. And that’s ok, they’re a kid. But, for the love of all that is good, if your child decides to get rowdy, and you are struggling to calm them down, take them outside for a minute, go sit in the car, whatever. Just have some respect for the other patrons. No one is mad at your child. But everyone hopes you step on a Lego every day for the rest of your life. Sorry for the rant.

Oh dang! It’s Mr. Poncho’s night! It’s my favorite time of the week. Did you know that you can order a dish here where they will grill all sorts of different meats, coat it in an incredible cheese sauce, and serve it on a bed of Spanish rice? You can and you should and if you don’t, you’re a chump. Here’s the thing though, if you want all that, you gotta ask nicely. Cuz, it doesn’t come on the bed of rice unless you ask really nicely and, also, it wouldn’t kill ya to be a little more polite, like, in general, you know? I’ve been noticing that you haven’t been using your “please”s and your “thank you”s enough and, well, it kinda bums me out. It makes YOU look bad, you know? I don’t want that for you. I want everybody to see you as the awesome person you really are, so, come on! You got this! Just ask really nicely and they’ll hook you up!
(Note: They will also help rude people, and they’ll be super chill about it. Still, you shouldn’t be rude You’re better than that. You’re just hungry. Be cool. Also, leave a tip.)

Mr. Panchos Mexican Restaurant and Grill is a gem of a find! The margarita tower was absolutely fantastic, a refreshing and delicious treat that was perfect for sharing with friends. The wings were cooked to perfection, flavorful and juicy with just the right amount of spice. The service was top-notch and the atmosphere was lively and inviting. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine and a great time!

Always have a great experience at Mr Panchos, our last visit (photo included) was a busy Saturday night but we were seated and served in a timely manner and the food was delicious!
We both order the Mr Panchos Mix (seen in photo), highly recommend it or anything on the menu, haven’t had a bad item yet.
