We bought four tacos: tinga, fish, al pastor, and carne asada. All of them were phenomenal. It feels a bit blasphemous to say, but I think these may be the best tacos I’ve had in the West St. Paul/Westside area. I was especially impressed by the al pastor. I find places around here typically serve their al pastor very dry. This was not an issue at all at Mr. Mustacheo. The two taco combo felt like a great deal with generously portioned sides and an agua fresca (you can choose a soda if you prefer).
We also bought some wings to share with the table. These were cooked perfectly, nice and crispy and plenty saucy. I recommend eating these first while they’re fresh. We chose the macha and al pastor sauces. Macha was heavy on the chilis. As someone who enjoys spicy food, I loved it. The al pastor sauce on the other hand was a little plain. Still I’m looking forward to going back and trying some of the other options.
Overall, I thought Mr. Mustacheo was awesome. On a street with so many Mexican and chicken restaurants, it seems like it would be tough to set yourself apart from the crowd. They do a great job of it, though. I couldn’t recommend their food more.
The genuine smiles that greet you, upon entry, are definitely a treat. The tacos are absolutely delicious, fast and affordable. Frijoles Charros, the best.
I was offered samples of drinks and the meats for the tacos as soon as I went to the counter. The horchata is so delicious and the steak and chicken were tender and really well seasoned.
The combo meals come with 2 sides that were honestly hard to pick from so I asked the owner to pick what his favorites were. I got the street tacos with beans and apple/cabbage salad and it was beyond expectations. I ate most of it sitting in my car in the parking lot because it smelled too good to wait to eat at home. The beans alone will make me a loyal customer. Holy smokes!

Still a hidden gem and soon will be lines out the door.
Every thing is unbelievably good, staff is super friendly and you get to pour your own salsa!
Portions are big and cheap, drinks are refreshing and made in house.
10/10 must eat
There’s so much flavor in their food! Even their Quesadillas are phenomenal!
I ate their bowl and their rice was so good but their beans(frijoles charros)are to die for!
I also tried their drinks they are all made from scratch! Their agua de horchata was so good! You have to try their lemonade, Oh Em Gee!
My new favorite spot!
