I wanted to see if their croissants are really better than a regular croissant. Wow! The croissants here are outstanding. Just the way I remember they were in Paris. Dry and crispy on the outside, moist and buttery on the inside. I ordered two plain croissants, and they are outstanding. I’m try then with strawberry jam next time. Or I might buy a ham and cheese croissant next time. The baker is super friendly, too. All around great shop.

My #1 goal in my first visit to historic St. Charles was the meet Mr. Meowski and buy a loaf of his famous sourdough bread! INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. ❤️

We stepped into Mr. Meowski’s for the first time today, and it genuinely felt like walking into a bakery straight out of a Hallmark movie — warm, inviting, and filled with the most incredible buttery aroma.

We had pre-ordered a loaf of sourdough, some croissants, and a pop tart. The owner asked for our name and immediately noted he didn’t recognize it, so it must be our first visit. That kind of attention to detail is rare. He also shared that for future orders we can request our sourdough lighter or darker — a small touch we didn’t know was even an option.

Our daughter loved the decor almost as much as we loved their absolutely amazing croissants. And the pop tart? You don’t choose a flavor — you simply trust whatever they’ve made that day is what’s best. (And trust me, it absolutely is.)

The person in line behind us asked for a sourdough loaf, and at 8:30am they were already sold out. So placing an order ahead of time is definitely the move!

The service was kind and thoughtful, the space cozy and charming, and you can feel the passion in everything they make. What an absolute gem of a bakery. Truly worth traveling in for. We’re already excited to return.

Hands down the best sourdough place in St. Louis !!! I got the high fiber sourdough loaf – it’s very crispy outside and deliciously soft inside!!!! I also got the ham and cheese croissant and cream cheese croissant to eat there. I felt so welcomed since the moment we walked in. The owner talked to us and walked us through what he currently had. Good bakery, good service – can’t recommend enough!!!

The owner is so sweet and kind and deserves all that is good in the universe just for how good the bread is. Thats not even broaching the subject of the pastries. If aliens from another planet came to earth and wanted an example of a proper sourdough or we would be erased from this dimension id bet everything on meowskis without a shred of a second thought and this is not carcasm or hyperbole, it really is just THAT good.
Edit: I mentioned the universe twice which I felt bumped.

Mr.Meowski’s sourdough bread is the best in town, I am so glad that I found this bakery, I ordered six loaves of whole grain sourdough bread and it was absolutely delicious, it is very hard to find whole grain sourdough bread and I am so happy that I found it. The owner Mr.Meowski is a very kind man, I am so lucky to found this bakery!! Super grateful!!!

SOOO GOOD!!!
Highly recommended!

You’re best off placing your orders ahead (their website makes it easy!) because they seem to sell out often. Yes, their items are that good.
The sourdough bread was amazing. I didn’t think I liked sourdough until I ate this.
Pizza is only made on the occasional Wednesday, and I caught the rare opportunity to order when I saw a Facebook notification. IT’S WORTH THE WAIT. When it’s available, order as soon as you see the post. They will sell out quickly. You have to pick it up and eat elsewhere. Again, IT’S WORTH IT. The sourdough crust is unique and crazy good. The pepperoni and cheese are top-notch ingredients (I think they only use the best of everything.) But the crust edges are somehow magical. Chewy, cheesy perfection. We fought over the last piece.
The cookies I picked up on my way out (because I was weak), ALSO WORTH IT. By far the best chocolate chip cookies we have ever eaten other than our own. My husband ate my last bite of cookie that I was saving (he thought I was done) and I was broken. He never likes anyone’s cookies, so I was caught off guard.
OH – I almost forgot the staff! They were warm and attentive, and seem to be obsessed with every little yummy detail.
Also, check out the stories on their website. They are as perfectly crafted as the food.❤️

We recently discovered this place and OmG we fell in love with the baked goods they serve.
Sourdough here is very fresh and delicious, ee loved the sandwiches with this bread. The bread is sour on the inside and crispy on the outside. Definitely recommend this place and this has become a regular stop for our fresh sourdough haul. We also had chocolate almond croissant, it’s one of the best choc croissants I have ever had. It’s a must must must try

This guy seems to be a local legend hereabouts. We’ve had the cinnamon roll last visit, but this time just grabbed a sourdough loaf. We were not disappointed. Toasted, this bread is chewy, crunchy and just generally better than what Gramma used to bake. Limited hours, but worth the effort to find. Tip: a limited collection of MM’s stuff can be found at Bike Shop cafe over in 2nd in Frenchtown, at least until they sell out. They almost always sell out.

The best sourdough to be found! Not kidding. Pastries are divine and rotate weekly, though the croissants are available every Saturday.
