Been going here for years. Went so much years ago that I got the privilege of making my own roll… the “Chris Roll” which is shrimp tempura with spicy tuna, then topped with super white tuna. There’s a drizzle of spicy mayo and a dot of siracha. You will not be disappointed.

This place has changed ownership but I had the pleasure of meeting the new owner and must say he has done an excellent job continuing the legacy of the namesake.

The food, the atmosphere, and the family climate is great. Loved seeing the family photos on the wall of all the growing families. It also speaks volumes that the family members wished to stay on working even under the new ownership.

The pho is also a treat on those cold rainy days. Sure to warm the soul.

Keep up the amazing work!

Earlier this year this place had amazing food!!

Not sure what happened but my Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box was horrible today. The chicken had a weird “gamey” aftertaste and the sauce was gross. Smelled like it was scooped from the Missouri River with a used boot!

The sushi was still good; however, I’m writing this review from the toilet. ‍♀️ the waitress was nice.

I won’t be returning.

Mr. Le’s was DELICIOUS! Lots of great options on the menu. I got 2 rolls and tried 2 of my friends and loved them all! Plus the free miso soup really hit the spot on a chilly evening. Will be going back!

Sushi is yummy, of course but I wasn’t sure her name but the lady with the glasses that has the pearly beads attached to her glasses really surprised me with her customer service skills. She was so sweet and helpful and kind. It has been so long since I’ve came across somebody in customer service who acted in such a helpful, sweet way. I came in to get a to go order and I thought my canned pop tasted weird, even though it was canned she still helped me with a solution. She made the whole experience positive and bittersweet.

This restaurant is located not too far from Worlds Of Fun. The area is old and I won’t go by myself although I have no problem traveling alone in overseas. The restaurant was 90% occupied when we were there in Sat so we sat at the bar. That also gave us a better view of the seafood they have. We ordered a few types of rolls and our favorite is Hannah Roll that has eels on top with tempura wrapped in between in roll. The complimentary Miso soup was pretty good in terms of flavor. Food was alright overall but didn’t quite enjoy the ambient there as much like I usually do at other Japanese restaurants.

The staff is super nice and the food is great, me and my wife love the granny roll with fried red snapper, the general tso chicken/miso soup/fried rice is also great.

Mr. Les is hands down the best sushi in Kansas City. My husband and I have been eating here for years and never once have we been disappointed.
It doesn’t matter if you eat in the restaurant, pick it up, or even DoorDash it the food is ALWAYS on point.
My favorite are the Magic Mushrooms, Lisa, and Vegas roll, but the steak bento box cannot be beat.
Honestly if you love yourself, eat at Mr. Les. You deserve it.

Absolutely amazing food with loads of flavor!
We tried the Ichi role, Myle roll, and a bento box with teriyaki chicken, fried rice, miso soup, and a 913 roll.
Every part of the meal had fantastic flavor, and we enjoyed all of it!
This was definitely some of the best sushi we’ve had in a long time.
We ordered to go via phone with no issues. The atmosphere inside looked solid, but we ordered to go.
Overall, we’d highly recommend checking it out and supporting their business!

We stopped by Mr. Les for a quick lunch. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall place, decor is scarce but the waiter and waitresss are all nice. You mark what you want on the menu which I found helpful as the menu is quite vast.

I ordered the Vietnamese coffee which was an absolute delight. Strong coffee with a not too sweet but still balanced taste, which they serve in a cup that you mix and pour over ice. There were some coffee grounds in mine but it didn’t effect the experience one bit. The bento box is a great deal at 15 bucks that comes with soup, salad, a protein, rice and a sushi roll. The miso soup was well seasoned and delicious, the house salad was made with romaine which I appreciated over the traditional iceberg and the salad dressing was a nice miso/sweet dressing. I picked chicken teriyaki which again was perfectly seasoned and the chicken was well cooked. My only disappointment was the sushi itself, the filling was a bit bland and the rice was crunchy. The spicy mayo was also sweet which I wasn’t a huge fan of.

Overall they had solid dishes and it was a good experience, but I wouldn’t go back for the sushi
