I ordered Broiled shrimp and broccoli?
The shrimp had a really weird taste. I was not pleased with over all experience. This is a neighborhood restaurant. I don’t mind that part. I care about is good food. This was not good. They will not be getting my business again. IMr Hooks was recommended. I won’t be going back.

I got salmon with Mac and yams and the whole platter was horrible…. The smell when I first opened the platter was nasty work the salmon was hard as hell the Mac was soupy and the yams were to sweet and just tasted like cinnamon. The WINGSSS smelled good but were tiny as hell then when we broke into they were BLACK!!! Like WTHH!

I’ve never had food that smelled and looked average to even taste worse once it’s in your mouth. First, Mac n Cheese should not be on the menu if you can’t make it. I didn’t even finish the spoof full that I tried. Threw it away. There is no reason for the Mac to taste worse than Kraft box Mac. The Crab cake? Sad excuse of a crab cake and I believe they used imitation crab and made it flatter than normal. Who wants to eat overcharged fake seafood ? Last but not least, the flounders batter was so thin but easily the best thing I had on the plate. Please DO NOT GO HERE if you want seafood cooked the right way. If you do come here only get fried fish. I’ve tried other things from my friend’s order and the only thing good about this place is the fried fish. Sides are trash. Fried catfish nuggets are actually really good.

I ordered from this place and it was Not Clean, floors and walls looked like they hadn’t been washed in months, food in freezer case looked like garbage … I ordered fish and shrimp, ate a little and threw it in the trash… Food was not fresh. It was greasy and made me sick. Black people are the connoisseurs of Mac & Cheese … This mac & cheese wes spoiled and sour, tasted awful … I would never return to this place and L&I and the Health dept need to be called on them ASAP … Black communities need to demand more from “‘others” who serve them food … Staff didn’t look like they should be around food and were eating while waiting on people … Someone else can get really sick from this food … Try Carlettas for the same menu … much Cleaner place and Better, Fresher food.

I ordered four platters for me and my family and I must say they have big portions but I’m not understanding how some foods are over seasoned and the rest is under seasoned. The whiting fried fish had bones in them still. The collard greens were so salty my step pop couldn’t even eat it. The Mac n cheese and yams didn’t have enough seasoning on them at all, they taste bland. And lastly my chicken is full of feathers.

I only had the Hush Puppies, being from Florida and Louisiana and really missed them.
It is AMAZING!
EDIT: Tried the catfish, it’s a really, REALLY huge filet, and very flakey (falls off the fish easily). If you want to eat it then definitely use utensils to make sure to get the most but definitely another hit. Really good! Only qualm with it is it’s a bit crunchy but still good!
EDIT 2: Had the French fries and my goodness, was it decently flavorful, perfect mixture of a nice crunch while also soft. So it wasn’t soggy and I got it delivered it’s just so perfect!

Never again. I ordered delivery at 7:18 pm. At 8:41 pm I called and was told the delivery driver left 8 minutes ago. At 9:19 the delivery driver called and asked how I was paying? “By credit card. I said that when I placed the order.” The delivery driver replied, “I don’t have the machine.” I asked him to pull over into an available parking spot so I could go get the $47 in cash that I thankfully had on hand. When I returned the driver was gone. I called him back and asked if he’d left or had gone around the block. He responded, “I went around the corner but the police just pulled me over.” A few minutes later he returned with the police SUV following him.
When I opened the platters we discovered what tasted like Kraft Mac and cheese. This isn’t baked Mac. It’s gross. Never again. Never.
