Our office had Mr. Gordo’s provide a catered taco lunch. The experience has been very smooth and I am highly impressed with their customer service!

I spoke with Natalia and she went above and beyond for the delivery and set up! We had more than enough food and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend Mr. Gordo’s for catering and we plan to use them again in the future.

We love Mr. Gordo’s ❤️ the table side Guacamole is a must! The chips and salsa are bottomless and the service is always exceptional. One of my favorite meals is the chicken soup! This bowl of comfort is large and so satisfying. It is loaded with veggies, chicken and delicious broth. We always end our meal with the delicious churros

Just left Mr. Gordon and as always service, food and all was excellent. Best mexican food all around. Got my fave Chori Pollo. Oscar makes the best drinks especially a Rum Runner. Excited to hear they opening a new second location soon.

Today for lunch I checked out Mr. Gordo’s Tacos and Cantina located off US 17 in Fleming Island. This was my first visit there and surely won’t be the last. For Taco Tuesdays they have $1 off all of their tacos amd house margaritas are 2/$11.99

I got 3 tacos today: One Taco El Rancho, one Taco Mr. Gordo, and one Taco Dosbros. Menu attached so you can see what each tacos consists of. All 3 were really good, but the standout star for me was the Taco El Rancho. I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been on a carnitas kick lately it seems, and this one was plenty good with the seared pork on top of black beans. The Mr. Gordo was my second favorite with the grilled pineapple and steak. It was like a little “upscale” al pastor. All of the tacos and their toppings tasted freshly made and grilled. Good quality in the protein and full of flavor.

Comes with complimentary chips and salsa. Nothing too special about them, but good. They have a thicker tortilla chip here, and I do prefer thinner chips.

House margarits was a solid standard. Exactly what I expected, and I did need a little nappy nap when I got home.

Another place to mark off my #JaxTacoTour and I can give it the “Taco Trish Seal of Approval”.

P.s. – I dont care of you think they’re “authentic” or not. I just like good food, so save the “its not good Mexican food” for someone else. Please go do something positive other than hate on what other people enjoy.

I wanted the fresh avocado dip that they make at your table. They charged $20 for it. It was definitely not worth it.
Everything else was fine.
Well, the head waiter didn’t smile at all and he was our greater, so that put a damper on everything too.
Good luck.
The food is good.

This is easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Jacksonville area. When I first noticed it, I assumed it might be just another Tex-Mex taco spot—but I was pleasantly surprised. The food is genuinely authentic and full of flavor.

Their chile rellenos are among the best you’ll find locally. I ordered the steak burrito, and my wife had the ceviche—both were outstanding. The flavors were vibrant, well-balanced, and clearly prepared with care.

The margaritas were equally impressive. It’s common to receive a drink that tastes overly strong or unbalanced, but theirs had the perfect blend of tequila and mix, resulting in a smooth, flavorful cocktail.

I’m also a big fan of their salsa. The blend of tomatoes, cilantro, and onion creates a fresh, well-balanced flavor that stands out from the typical overly chunky versions you often find elsewhere.

The service was top-notch. Our waitress was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming—something we truly appreciated, especially compared to some other dining experiences we’ve had in Fleming Island.

The only downside is that the pricing is a bit higher than what you might find at some other Mexican restaurants in the area. However, given the quality of the food, drinks, and service, we felt it was well worth it.

We will definitely be returning and highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.

Love the Fleming Location! Order door dash at least once a week for lunch. Just tried their new University location tonight with the family. The Mahi Mahi tacos and house margaritas were delightful! Highly recommend. Great service, the food arrived quickly, and prices were reasonable. We will be back!

Our Uncle wanted to take us out for a nice Mexican meal so we chose Mr. Gordo’s. I know it’s weird but I can usually get a good read on whether the food is going to be good based on the salsa they serve with the chips. I was right. The salsa had this weird aftertaste that I just couldn’t get past. We ordered our food and when it was brought out, there was so much confusion as to what plate went to what person. The waiter must have been new because he didn’t have a clue. Everyone got their meal except my Uncle! We told the waiter who was still confused. He finally brought out his meal and the plate was hot but the food was cold. So we sent it back. He had to wait again and finally got his meal. He only ate half. It wasn’t good. The food was barely warm on all of our plates and it was just lacking some flavor. I love supporting our local businesses but we’ve decided that this isn’t some place we want to come back to.

Came here with a large group of people and were immediately seated. Staff was nice and efficient in their jobs. The wait for food was not bad considering we had over 20 people. We required our checks to be separated as we were in town for business, this was no issue at all. Service over all was great. Decor and atmosphere were nice. Their happy birthday song and presentation they do was super cool. The food I was not a fan of. To be fair I only had the Mexican chili (which left little to be desired) and the Mexican street corn. The corn off the Cobb was a little much, maybe on would have been better. Others liked their food, some did not. If I was around I would give it another shot and order real food

DON’T COME HERE. Me and my sisters went here for a good treat after a hard day at work and we were really looking forward to getting some tacos so we came here. When we came here, we ordered our food and the food was good but they were trying to charge us extra for cheese and pico, and you only get a very small portion because they portion it then we tried to speak to a manager, and she said that there was no manager or higher-ups there at the moment.
