We stopped by here after visiting rainbow falls. What a little gem of a store! The baked items were delicious and the homemade jams were wonderful too, it was hard to choose which flavor to take home! We chose pineapple mango and sweet potato and coconut. Definitely recommend and would come back!

Must stop when you visit akaka falls. The young kids working were so awesome + knowledgeable. They told us exactly where to go catch tad poles:) and knew the history of the building. Cool historical pictures too. Shaved ice starts at only $4.95. In Hilo it’s around $7. There can be a wait if there’s alot if peoole ordering shaved ice because there’s only one station. Shortbread chocolate chip cookies were $5 and really good. We didn’t sample the jam but there was a ton of different flavors.

This place is such a cool spot! The baked goods are simply incredible. The jams and preserves are out of this world. Don’t skip the breakfast sandwiches either, they’re made fresh to order and the flavors are absolutely amazing.

Went here to pick up some cookies. Bought 3 different kinds of cookies. White chocolate chip with mac nuts. Chocolate chip and chocolate with walnuts. The texture of the cookies was cake- like. Very dense. The flavor wasn’t even right, either. I know back in the day this place was pretty good. Now, like everything else around Us, it’s changed.

This is our second time visiting Mr. Ed’s Bakery and this time it was for the Thanksgiving Feast! Mr. Ed is a kind human-being. He takes the time to speak to his customers and genuinely gets to know who you are and where you are coming from. The Thanksgiving meal was absolutely delicious. Mr. Ed and his staff host locals, tourists, and people without meal on Thanksgiving…for FREE! We made sure to purchase the awesome desserts and leave a great tip. Hope to see you again Mr. Ed!

We love Mr. Ed! When my partner and I were visiting Hawaii, we stumbled on Mr. Ed’s Bakery and I’m so glad we did! He spent at least 30 minutes talking to us about making his jams and letting us try all of his favorites. We tried SO many jams (for free!) for fruits I have never even heard of and all of them were wonderful, with a couple of weird ones thrown in. We liked the pineapple/li hing mui the most! We ended up shipping back at least 20 jars of jam for friends and family and everyone loved them! Highly recommend!
