Sadly there is no more pizza they kitchen is sushi. I brought up the them hey they should figure out pizza also. The sushi was great however. I believe it was Rose at the bar she was very nice we went right when they opened so it was slow but I have heard good things about this place gave it a try. Will be back. It’s a simple bar if there is ingredients for a drink you want then it can be made. But it’s pretty much straight up shots beer on tap. Got this orange flavor one was HELLA good. And the “A” tequila was really good idk how to spell it but it starts with an ” A” I love the history of the building as well of you take the time to read the placker out front it used to be the first tanning place for the ENTIRE west coast and into the Midwest.

Who knew Stockton had a hoppin’ venue with live music and dancing on a school night? The bartenders were pleasant and proficient. My husband and I came here after the Journey concert and were pleasantly surprised.

11/16/2023: It’s been years since I’ve stepped foot in this establishment. Came here to watch some live music as Marvin Zellar was playing. They do a weekly open mic sesh on Wednesday nights. Since I was in the area with hubby and his friend, we decided to drop in for a night cap. The bartender was cool, and the kitchen was open, though we didn’t eat anything. There was a decent crowd of about 25 people. It was great to hear live music and be in a chill place, just grooving to the beat. If you’re in the area on Wednesday nights, go check it out! Support local music and local businesses!

I run the free poker tournaments on Wednesday nights at 7pm. I love this place. Its alot of fun, and some really good people play their. Come out and see for your self. The food is good the sports memorabilia cool.

Let me make it clear: This isn’t a five-star establishment. However, it *is* a five-star dive bar. How did I love it? Let me count the ways. 1) The location. This was my first time to downtown Stockton. It was about 9:00 on a stormy Tuesday night in January. The area was completely deserted — although the area kind of looks like a desolate wasteland without much of a crowd generally. And in the midst of all this nothingness was Mr. D’s. So cozy. So inviting. The only sign of life for 2 blocks around 2) The food — They had a kitchen staffed by a really friendly guy named Gil. The cheeseburger he served me was off the hook, and a real value at $6.50 (fries included). I still think about that cheeseburger from time to time. 3) The vibe — I wasn’t there long, and didn’t interact much with the other patrons. It was mostly empty, and the patrons were clearly regulars. The bartender was friendly enough. The best thing of all was the old guy who was playing guitar in the corner — I literally had no idea whether he was being paid by management to do so, or whether was he was just playing for his own enjoyment, as literally no one was paying any attention to him, and he didn’t seem to be performing so much as practicing. The drink selection was modest, but so were the prices, which is exactly what you expect at a dive bar. Stockton is fortunate to have this one.
