We’ve been coming here for over 15 years. (Well it’s different owners now.) And where the food is ok I find myself saying never again. Myself and son were walking by and smelled pizza. We hadn’t had lunch yet so in we went. I ordered two margarita slices for him. And one square vodka slice for me. $14!!!! More for a credit card purchase. (Still don’t get that.) I almost fell over. I know I know. It’s “speciality” slices. And I know I know. It’s Montclair. And the economy. But come on. That’s nuts. There are other places around where you can get a whole pie for close to the same amount. And the pizza is better. I didn’t want to disappoint my son so I coughed up the money. But. Never. Again.

I rarely write reviews but I felt the need to after having a few of the greatest slices I’ve ever had. The margarita slice is second to none. They do something magical with the crust that is hard to replicate, and the sauce and overall flavor is just a treat for the tastebuds. The cherry on top is that Nick behind the counter is a great and affable guy, clearly enjoys serving great pizza to the community. If you’re looking for great pizza by the slice, look no further.

Scouting for the Pizza Hunters App brought me to Mr Dinos in Montair. As always the case in Montclair, you need to get lucky with Parking. Customer Service was excellent and owner was more than willing to talk about Pizza or anything else for that matter. Just a great local Pizzeria that has been around since the 80s. Pizza was solid, people were great, deserves a return Visit for sure.

I recently visited this pizzeria, and I can confidently say it’s great pizza spot. The Pizza was crispy on the edges, soft and chewy in the middle – just the way it should be From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and the smell of freshly baked dough set the tone for a fantastic dining experience.

Having a large pie straight out of the oven, I’d expect a somewhat crispier crust, but it was incredibly doughy, the cheese and sauce were flavorful though, but the cheese was oozing everywhere. Feels like it was taken out of the oven too soon. The guy making the pizza gave me strong Uncle Jun’ vibes, attitude and thick rimmed glasses and all. Not sure I would be coming back!

There is no reason that NJ or NY should have crappy pizza places. I’ve eaten at quite a few pizza places in my life and I don’t I have ever left displeased. This would be the first. There is a price difference between a margarita slice with deli slices of mozzarella, a granny pie slice which is just a slice with deli slice of mozzarella and parm flakes and a plain slice. All lacking in quality or taste. And let’s talk about the egg plant parm samdwich. The picture says it all.

Superb New Jersey pizza by the slice shop. Traditional slice is outstanding and the Sicilian is worth checking out as well. Look forward to trying again when back in town. Great folks running this spot – spoke with Nick who was super friendly and cordial. Highly recommend folks stop by to try a slice.
