Beyond my expectations!!
When I walked in I was greeted with a great, pleasant, welcoming attitude! Tierra and jasmine were amazing servers. Tierra was patient and gave a lot of great advice on the food options. I ordered boudin balls, 2 piece catfish basket and the Cajun corn on the cob.
The fish was cooked to perfection and the butternut squash sauce gives it that perfect finish.
Kudos to the staff and cooks for this pleasant experience!
Please come check this place out in Pleasant Grove. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Mr. Cajun was an absolute gem from start to finish. The food was outstanding — I had the fried catfish and shrimp plate with turkey necks, and every bite was seasoned perfectly and cooked fresh. You can tell they put real care into their food. We even stayed for dessert, and it did not disappoint.
What really made the experience special, though, was the atmosphere. The owner and staff treated us like family the moment we walked in. Genuine hospitality, great conversation, and top-tier service. The food was immaculate! The service was great and the atmosphere very inviting and authentic. My only issue is a major issue of trust and security. I patronized this place the first time on 3/4/26 and loved the food sooo much that I came the next day to spend more money! In two days I spent close to $200 at the establishment. Well today I wake up to fraudulent charges and it is my belief that my card was compromised at this location. This was the last place I used my card and the only new place I have used it at. All previous purchases were with reputable merchants that I have frequented. The first day I went my order was taken by a heavy set lady, the second day it was by a man who looked like the owner of the establishment. Both were pleasant in service, sad that this happened and I won’t be returning here again.

I had the fried fish, fried corn, red beans/rice [got it by mistake], originally it should have been the gumbo. I notified the business of what happened and I was able to pick up the replacement gumbo the following day. OMG, the best gumbo that I’ve had in DFW. Cajun restaurants I like to gauge their authenticity by their gumbo [personally that’s me] and Mr. Cajun, you passed with flying colors. It’s a drive for me coming from Duncanville but you make it well worth the drive. First time there, but it won’t be my last visit.

My first visit was 4/29, my best friend and I went and we were greeted by the amazing staff, we ordered 2 catfish plates & boyyy was it good.
Everything was fresh, flavorful, steaming hot !
We also met the man, Mr.Cajun who is a very humble, sweet guy. He even gave us cajun corn 10/10 & Gumbo 10/10 to try & he knew what he was doing because I then returned yesterday 5/3 with my fiancée.
We got gumbo, turkey neck w/rice, boudin balls, cajun corn, catfish, banana pudding with & without cookies, kool-aid & kool-aid pickles.
Once again everyone was very sweet, welcoming & attentive.
The food was ON POINT, per usual.

I have wanted to try Mr. Cajun on Lake June for months and placed an online order. The order was placed online at 520p with a pickup time at 540p. I ordered 2 orders of the smoked chicken salad (smoke flavor was over powering). I ordered 2 po boy sandwiches and at 548p, after my son arrived to pick up the order, I received a text that the they were in the process of removing the po boys from the menu. Well, my son order the fried fish and fries (which was extremely salty). I ordered turkey necks with corn. The turkey necks were delicious, but we did not receive the corn. I ordered lemon pepper wings that did not seem to be cooked long enough. For dessert, I order the banana pudding that was very dense I could barely scoop it out of the container. Lastly, I tried the sweet potato thing, is was good. With this being our first time trying Mr. Cajun, I had high hopes. My order was done by 620p. Due to the issue with the po boys and the delay, I thought they would at least try to accommodate us by including a side of the rice & beans, but they wanted to charge me $7.99. I spent over $100 and it was not worth it at all. Sorry, I will not be back.

Babay, when I tell you the crawfish was crawfishing lol, they did their thang! I’ve eaten crawfish all over DFW and this crawfish brought me back home to Louisiana. There wasn’t a lot of sauce all over it just seasoned water and good crawfish. The service was good and they greeted everyone that came in the door, which you don’t see everywhere. If you’re ever in Pleasant Grove and you like crawfish and seafood like I do, go to Mr. Cajuns you won’t be disappointed.

OMG!!!! They were very welcoming they direct you to food specials depending on the day and a tall banner showing them too. Plenty of space love their setup for seating and 2 fridge/freezers that hold their special in home made sides and desserts . Love the drink and daiquiri selection plus ALL their machines are working unlike other places .
