My wife and I go to Mr. Burger maybe once a month or so. Our favorite one is this one on the Beltline. Usually she has an olive burger combo and I have a Mr. Burger combo, which are always tasty and good comfort food. This time we changed it up and had breakfast for dinner.
I had the mini breakfast and added uncut toast and my wife had eggs and toast. Both were delicious and well prepared. My toast was perfectly prepared and lightly buttered (some other places smear on way too much).
This an older place that has a vibe out of the 1980s, but the food is good and worth a stop. The fact that we keep coming back says it all.

Everything is overpriced . The burgers are small and the fries are hard and have absolutely no seasoning on them of any kind. The “chicken salad sandwich” had hardly and chicken salad on it and it cost $6.50 for just the sandwich. Don’t think we’ll be returning unfortunately. Not worth the prices whatsoever. Russ’s is better food and cheaper prices.

They can’t make coffee. I eat her 3-5 times per month and the coffee is never the same twice in a row. It ranges from “meh” to “we’ve used the same grounds 3 times in a row now”. At it’s worst, You can see through the pot of coffee. I don’t mean the glass. I mean a full 10-cup pot allows seeing shapes and shadows through the coffee. Otherwise it’s a decent place. Busy and understaffed sometimes but decent most of the time. Sometimes the wait is nearly an hour and this food isn’t worth that kind of wait.

First time going to this legendary grand rapids spot. Went there right at closing time but we didn’t know. Still took our order, super welcoming atmosphere, clean, and great tasting burgers. Will definitely be back during regular hours lol.
