Blink as you go down the road and you’ll miss this one. Well deserved title of ‘Restaurant’ as this is definitely not a bbq joint. Really great bbq served in a more refined setting with service that is as high class as the decorations. Mr James fixed me up with a sampler platter of ribs, deep fried ribs and some sliced brisket. My partner enjoyed the bbq sandwich too. They have a really great homemade sauce. There were several desert choices that sounded terrific but I was too stuffed to try. I’d call this one the Top Spot in Haywood County for sure.
EDIT: came back 4 months later just for the ribs. Just really good. My partner got the chicken strips and was happy with them.

Exceptional ribs and sides! This is the spot for real southern barbecue. The owner, James, was very inviting and even let me check out the pitts. The ribs were fall off the bone and the sauce was excellent. The sides were delicious, broccoli and cheese is top tier!

The restaurant itself is immaculate. You can tell the owners take pride in every detail—a 100 food-safety score, spotless dining area, and bathrooms so clean they look brand new. It’s rare to find a place this well-kept, and it speaks volumes about their standard of excellence.
And the BBQ? Next level. The pork has that perfect rosy smoke ring—the kind of deep, even pink color just beneath the bark that only a true pitmaster can achieve. It tells you immediately that you’re eating meat that’s been smoked low and slow with skill, patience, and real craftsmanship. Every bite is tender, juicy, and packed with authentic smoke flavor.

This was an amazing experience to come and eat here. The owner I assume was super sweet and welcoming. The place is super clean and the food delicious! The rib plate comes with 6 ribs and they are fall off the bone! I also got the fried catfish very crispy! The potato salad and baked beans were my favorite side. This is a definitely a place you must stop by for lunch. Great value for the portions!

I dont do review, 2026 I will change that. THE FOOD By far the THE BEST MOM & POP’S bbq I have ever eaten at traveling from Las Vegas to DC. This place my opinion beats out: any strip mall bbq, mission bbq, rudy country store bbq only 5~6 min from I-40. THE ENVIRONMENT or “VIBS”. Amazing place to sit think, talk with love one, or just get you mind off the road. THE FOLK running the resturant are SO, SO, SO NICE to all of their patrons that come threw this resturant. They made me feel like I was family comming back home anticipating my arrival… by far in my book this place is a must stop. I wish google had a highlight marker saing MUST VIST. We came here because of all the 5 star reviews and they were correct, this place is delicious! My husband and I are on a road trip from Oregon to Arkansas and stopped here for lunch. We both got the brisket plate with 2 sides. It’s located in a cute house and everyone was so friendly!

This place is amazing! We had catfish, ribs, slaw, beans, and fries. It was all delicious. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and comfortable. Every member of the staff is kind and attentive. We just moved into a house a few blocks away this weekend. We will definitely be regulars here.

We were passing through on our way home. We stopped because of the reviews and they aren’t wrong. The best ribs we’ve ever eaten. They just fall off the bone. The beans and potato salad were good but we focused on the ribs. We even got some to go. We will definitely stop here on our next trip through. Mr BabyBack personally came out and visited with us. We got desserts to go and they were delish too! It’s right off interstate 40.

Just roll on past Memphis and keep coming East to exit 56 and go see Mr and Mrs Baby Back. You will not be disappointed the best barbecue/catfish we have ever experienced and their hospitality is from years past. Also make sure you get some of Mrs. Glenda‘s fresh brewed sweet tea
