I love this place and have been coming here when they had reggae bands and free admission. George was the manager and he was really nice. I still come here when I have a Monday off. I bought tickets to see The Wailers right off Mozambique’s site which then routed me to Ticketnetwork, efficient is usually where I get ALL my tickets for great prices. I also get an extra $30 with my Capital One card. I’ve bought 7 concert tickets and 2 World Cup tickets!! This is the first time I was told they were no good. Even though they say Iran’s House at Mozambique with all the correct info. One ticket was $100 and it said it would be waiting at will call. Thankfully, I always print my tickets out. I had to pay another $25 to get in. I’ll be calling them for sure. The manager gave me his card and said he works talk to his IT person. I have to give a shout out to the valets out there who helped me out! I was the one with the cane and black 4-runner. Thank you. I had a very bad day and I was late. I’m never late. And where was Camille (sp)?? I needed your help! Jk. Other than that the show was great! Their food is really good and I think they still have their African Mojitos which are really good. I don’t drink so I get them without alcohol. I’ve brought my friends and family for years. I’ve been coming to Laguna since I was 14 and it always brings back so many memories. I’m just glad it hasn’t become like some of the other horrible beach cities. The people in Laguna are still nice people. Good job Laguna!!

We got the opportunity of having Kent as our server on Friday afternoon and it made the biggest difference. We had the South African pot pie that I fell in love with. It had mushrooms and usually my friend hates mushrooms, but it was seasoned so well they were hardly noticed. It was a perfect blend of caramelized onions, tender meat, mushrooms and flaky crust. The service made the experience unforgettable, I will always cherish the best birthday I had with my sister. Thank you so much Kent! I loved your servant heart and good jokes! The view was also beautiful

We are so happy we discovered Mozambique!! Oscar at the host station provided superb service. The rooftop ocean view at sunset was gorgeous and relaxing. Kristian provided outstanding table service! He was extremely attentive especially given a gluten and dairy allergy. The Seafood salad with a side of beets was absolutely delicious!! The Lobster, Shrimp, Scallops and Calamari were extremely fresh! The Sky Burger and Samosa were fair and the Sweet Potato Fries were very tasty. We were celebrating an anniversary. Kristian generously gifted us a delicious Sorbet Trio. The ambiance, service and meal was extremely enjoyable! We definitely recommend Mozambique, a little gem in Laguna Beach!!!

I made a reservation here and went to the rooftop only to be told rather rudely that reservations are not for the rooftop and that I needed to go downstairs. I went downstairs and the poor waiter was stuck basically handling the whole floor by himself to do staffing issues. He did his best but the experience was less than ideal. The food was okay. As a frequent SoCal visitor from CT, it is a one and done for me.

They offer valet parking but there’s street meter parking if you can find a spot.
The entrance has a large bird cage that has a Toco Tucan (Nancy) and two Macaws (Beira & Pemba). Make sure to stop by to check them out and say hi
The building has multiple restaurants on each level with Mozambique located on the rooftop but they also have indoor seating in the level below the roof. But the rooftop is where it’s at!
The menu has good options to choose from. I got the salmon, also tried the traditional Southern African pie with beef and mushrooms.
As for appetizer, we got the ceviche which was good but nothing special about it. I’ve had better elsewhere. Not sure how that ties into Mozambique cuisine. The Samosa was yummy. The Peri Peri chicken was also yummy but not sure how that ties into Mozambique cuisine.
The salmon was good but there’s nothing particularly special about it. I thought it would have an African touch…but it was just an ordinary salmon dish. Don’t get me wrong…it was good, I was just expecting more. Oh…it came with a side of French fries… They were a bit stale… Also nothing special about them… I’ve had better at fast food restaurants.
The southern African pie is where it’s at…it was yummy and met my expectation of something out of the ordinary. Be careful it’s very hot inside.
Service was good but a bit slow. Maybe because we had a large group. The waiter was working hard. I think they need to have someone other staff assist when it’s a large group.
Prices are what you would expect at a Laguna Beach restaurant with a scenic view.
They have a live band and a DJ in the evening (around 8:30pm) I believe Thursdays – Sundays. Unfortunately, we had to leave around 6:30pm
Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Worth going for a special occasion or at least once to check it out.

Great place with a large dance floor amd lots of energy. Remix was there last week but ive seen Brightsiders and 90s Rockshow as well. Has awesome raggae bands on Sundays. Perfect spot to see cover bands, local talent and just dance. Ice water is free. Staff is super friendly and fast. Cant recommend highly enough.

I am really inclined to leave a review after our experience being served by Kent.
There were some hiccups during my visit but the service was so amazing I easily overlooked.This place can get really busy so be patient, definitely worth the wait. The food is good, the prices are fair and the views were great. Definitely will be back!

I was served mediocre room temp food, one drink and then it was like I was not in the room. My drink has been empty for 7 minutes, not to mention it has been low over 10 minutes. A sad experience/, then the live music never happened as well on a Saturday night.
Seriously, the waiter just walked by and it is like he doesn’t know I’m here… except when he brings the check I assume.

We’ve been trying to come to this restaurant forEVER… WE FINALLY MADE IT TODAY. The food was absolutely amazing. Try the M-Fries…spicy kick on warm and crispy fries. So good. I also recommend the sampler platter as well…. the sausage, prawns everything was amazing. We DID sub the Chicken on the sampler for bacon…. just a personal preference but EVERYTHING was great.
PROTIP: ASK FOR KENT to be your server! Request him when you make your reservation. He’s an experience! Full of great stories, knowledgeable about Laguna, excellent service and tasty, descriptive menu recommendations…. he’s a great compliment to everything on the experience. DON’T DO LIKE US AND PUT IT OFF, GET TO MOZAMBIQUE! Also do the rooftop!! Great beach views and a nice breeze. Bring a jacket if you get cold easily.
