Social Profile:

Mowgli is all about how Indians eat at home and on their streets. She was born to feed the raw need Indians have for tiffins full of fresh bright intense flavour. Mowgli is not about the intimate, hushed dining experience. It is about the smash and grab zing of healthy, light, virtuosic herbs and spices. The simple dishes of a Mowgli menu are a million miles away from the curry stereotype. These dishes convey the truth that real Indian food is extremely healthy, often vegan and always packed with fresh flavour.

One of my favourite restaurants.

Service was really good with a smile on and food came quick and it was as tasty as it is in every restaurant.

I had dhal, Mowgli slaw and rice.

It’s located in central Manchester and inside a shopping centre that has few other options.

They do offer a large vegan menu and recommended.

My husband and I came here for Valentine’s Day, we had such a lovely time. Food obviously amazing, it was my first time visiting, so great to experience all the different flavours! Also, the staff were really lovely, helpful, chatty, basically made us feel really welcome. We were stuck in traffic trying to get there, so I phoned to let them know, and they were so helpful and kind. Loved all the decor too, beautiful. Thank you!

Visited Mowgli today and had a really enjoyable meal. We ordered chicken biryani, butter chicken, lamb curry, two rotis, a paratha and a beer; the food was full of flavour and nicely presented. The bill came to around £50, which is slightly on the higher side for what we had considering the small portion size .

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the service from the waiters was absolutely top notch – attentive, friendly and professional throughout. Overall, a great place for a treat or a night out; would happily recommend it if you’re looking for quality Indian food in a beautiful setting.

I had an experience at this restaurant that genuinely deserves praise. Even though I had an issue with my meal, the way the staff and management handled it was nothing short of outstanding.

The moment I raised my concern, they responded with professionalism, kindness, and a genuinely positive attitude. They immediately removed the meal from the bill and even offered a complimentary drink and dessert as an apology. We were already too full to accept the offer, but the gesture alone spoke volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction.

Mistakes can happen anywhere, but it’s how a team responds that truly sets a place apart. Their warmth, attentiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond turned what could have been a disappointing moment into a reminder of what excellent hospitality looks like.

Amazing service from management and the entire team. I’ll definitely be returning.

A really special place. Staff couldn’t have been nicer- we booked and got placed in a booth. It would have been fine but the seating had a raised ledge at the back with no back rest- if you are larger or have mobility issues (both at play here) these are not the seats you want. Staff moved us, no fuss, thank you! Plenty of exciting vegetarian options (most appreciated), the black dhal was incredible, we ordered extra roti during our meal which arrived quickly. The seasonal dish Diwali cauliflower was disappointing- boiled, rather than roasted and was pretty bland. The pani puri excellent as ever and the sticky chicken apparently very nice. Our waitress was lovely and stayed and chatted when giving our bill and said she would feed back our cauliflower comments. All in all, enjoyable, great location, wonderful staff. For a ‘chain’ restaurant, the whole experience felt special.

This was my first time at Mowgli, and I was really excited to try it as I absolutely loved the interior and the way the food was presented. The ambience is beautiful and very inviting.
The dahi puri was excellent – full of flavour and perfectly balanced. The mango lassi was thick, creamy, and delicious.
However, I was quite disappointed with the mains. I tried the butter chicken and the Mowgli special chicken curry with roti. Unfortunately, both lacked depth of flavour. The coconut-based curry was particularly too sweet. As an Indian, I personally found the flavours didn’t feel authentic or bold enough.
Overall, a lovely setting and great starters, but the mains didn’t quite meet my expectations.

My wife and I were celebrating an anniversary and we had an amazing time. Food, as always, was excellent. It was my wife’s first time visiting and she loved all the different flavours! The staff were really helpful and chatty, and made us feel really welcome. Suzanne looked after us really well, ensuring that we had everything we needed and was especially helpful.

Jenny, the manager, helped us to choose some really interesting choices from the menu and got everything spot on. We were both really impressed with the high quality and freshness of our food. Thanks guy, great job!

Lovely food, very average service and the restaurant was not particularly busy.
Staff were not overly attentive.
Two main meals had to be replaced as they were cold.
Overall not overly impressive.

I placed an order online on Tuesday, and while some of the food was actually quite tasty, when I came to open my toddler’s gunpowder chicken, I was horrified to see it covered in melted plastic!! I’m guessing it’s from a plastic sauce pot, I don’t know who thought it would be a good idea to put something plastic inside a hot box of food and then place it in a hot hold! So disappointed as we would’ve been regular customers if it hadn’t been for the disregard for health and safety!

We had a great experience at Mowgli (Manchester), and a big part of that was thanks to our waitress, Suzanne. She was absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from the moment we arrived. She checked in at just the right times, made great recommendations, and handled everything with a warm, professional attitude.

It’s rare to come across service that feels both efficient and personal, but she managed it effortlessly. Her positive energy really added to the whole dining experience. A real credit to the team, and we’ll definitely be back!
