Mountainside Cafe is a Must-Visit!
I had the pleasure of visiting Mountainside Cafe today, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a wonderful, inviting vibe that sets the tone for a truly enjoyable meal.
We tried the pulled chicken wrap and the avocado sandwich, and both were incredibly delicious. But it wasn’t just the food that impressed; the service was absolutely tremendous—attentive, friendly, and efficient. And if you’re a coffee lover, you have to try their cappuccino; it was tremendous, easily one of the best I’ve had. We also enjoyed their strawberry refresher drink.
Honestly, everything about Mountainside Cafe was really good. If you’re looking for a spot with great food, fantastic drinks, excellent service, and a super nice atmosphere in Connecticut, this is definitely the place to go. I can’t wait to go back!

Used to love coming to this place but it’s nothing like what it was when it first opened. Last time I ate here in December, we had a male server who was miserable and made us feel like we were an inconvenience for dining there. That same server made a group of women next to us so uncomfortable that they almost left. The tofu sandwich I ordered and used to love was tasteless and sloppy. I thought maybe this was a one time issue.
Today I stopped in to grab lunch with a group of 6 and my baby and the woman at the front with the black & white hair and piercings was even more miserable than the male server last time I came here. I noticed a table large enough for my group had just gotten their check and mentioned that it was good timing since it looked like they were about to leave and that table would work great for us. She had a nasty attitude and told me she couldn’t make them leave (obviously, I wasn’t expecting that) and then asked if we really wanted to squeeze in there… I asked her if there were any other options for a group of our size and there were not so we planned to wait until the table I mentioned was free and ready, which was plenty big enough. Then we heard her co-workers talking about her attitude and joking around like it was funny and we decided to leave. I know there’s a shortage of staff in the area but damn, the staff here the worst. That’s the last time I’ll attempt to dine here.

Quaint, modern, breakfast and lunch spot with about a dozen tables and a small bar (without booze). Unusually good coffee and excellent muffin …assuming you’re not on a low-fat diet. Fast, friendly service. A bit pricey but worth it if you’re looking for an upscale experience.

This great restaurant sits right off the Appalachian Trail where locals and thru hikers sit and enjoy this farm to table concept. This spacious restaurant is tucked away in the woods . The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. We went with the Johnnie Cash skillet – melted cheese over eggs and home fries with bacon – just awesome. I also grabbed a cinnamon apple scone and it was melt in your mouth good – this place was just yum.

It’s a nice cafe that we found near the Appalachian trail. The atmosphere and service were great. I had a chicken sandwich – a lot of flavor, delicious! I do wish they had more healthy and vegetarian options though.

This tiny hole of a restaurant was interesting. Small menu with items like eggs with homefries and a slice of toast (just one?!) to cheeseburgers. Food was mediocre like any place and didn’t get any coffee items because of pricing. We went elsewhere for that. Very small place with 2 maybe 3 servers and an overrated fluffed up menu. My husband had gotten his wisdom teeth so he ordered just a plain omelette and homefries and toast. Homefries liked like he was eating charcoal and the toast was in-house made. Service was okay and the server forgot to grab hot chocolate. Luckily we weren’t charged. You can pretty much get food elsewhere for a cheaper price.

Great atmosphere but out waiter never put our order in, resulting in us sitting there for half an hour waiting for simple egg sandwich dishes. Wouldn’t recommend especially if you’re on a tight schedule. Cool location for car spotting though.

Another breakfast spot that I visited with my Wife on weekend. It had nice parking lot on the side. Place is not huge but its just big enough.
We both ordered omelets. My Wife had one from the menu and I had two custom one with meat. We also had sausge on side.
Everything came DELICIOUS. Omelets were huge, filled with meat and seasoned just perfect. Same with sausge, was really good. Coffee also was great.
Pretty much everything was great including staff, that was nice, smiling and caring.
WE DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

We drove from Hartford to this place to try their brunch and coffee. However, due to their’s chef’s unavailability kitchen was closed. We tried their coffee and it was great. Also liked their bakery stuff like bagels and muffins. The atmosphere and ambiance are beautiful and the staff is also sweet and courteous. I’ll visit again to try their breakfast/brunch menu.
FYI – They have good parking spaces and also have outdoor seating arrangements.
