The food was genuinely bad.

I don’t mind paying premium prices, but the quality here was closer to bar food — and not good bar food.

I ordered a medium-rare hanger steak ($42) and received something completely overcooked and charred, 5 half fingerlings, 4 green beans (raw). My son described it perfectly: “a steak that had a run-in with a forest fire.” It was inedible.

He ordered the “loaded grilled cheese,” ($20) which arrived essentially empty — nothing resembling “loaded.” Photos included.

For context, the restaurant was extremely understaffed. The staff were friendly and clearly overworked, but that doesn’t excuse the food quality.

Overall, very disappointing. We’ll be heading into the village for dinner tomorrow

Upscale prices for mediocre food. I felt bad for the 2 staff members hustling and multitasking, especially for Mark (we jokingly dubbed “Mr. Mammoth”) who excelled in all his responsibilities of being a friendly host, server, busboy, guest services, security, tractor maintenance, and holding the entire building together. The rest of the staff and bartenders moved comedically slow.
Understandably busy because there is absolutely no other restaurant choices around without driving. They do not take to-go food orders, so party of 4 was added on the list at 7:15pm with a 45min to 1hr wait. Was seated 8:50 (they stop serving food at 9:00). Our food was room temperature when it came out. I’m sure the quality of food and service here is better when not short staffed. This was just my experience on a busy evening.

We ate breakfast here and the experience was absolutely horrible. Downright disgusting food, mediocre service, and overpriced menu. They should honestly be paying you to eat the slop they serve here.

I had the mountainside breakfast. Eggs were fine but that’s hard to mess up. The sausage was actually disgusting in my opinion, had an off flavor, and was overly juicy to the point it was soggy. The breakfast potatoes were basically raw, it’s like someone threw them on a pan with butter for about 60 seconds. The potatoes were served with peppers and onions mixed in, which were also raw. The toast came out cold and tasted stale, and good luck spreading the rock hard butter they give you. Our waitress also forgot an order of French toast for our table, which we didn’t even remind her about after tasting the food that had already come out. We had to ask for it to be taken off the bill. This place is just low effort and it seems like they just bank on the fact people staying at the inn will eat there out of convenience.

I’ll never step foot in here again.

Ate dinner here twice during our stay. Not many options if staying at Mammoth Mountain Inn. Was pleasantly surprised with the food and service.

Favorite dish was short rib truffle fries. So good. Burger was solid. The salads were not bad. Free refills on sodas. Liked the root beer. Think it was from draft.

Everybody is super friendly and helpful.

It’s the only option at main lodge after 5pm. The food is really overpriced but fine. They’re understaffed severely, so can’t cope with having to feed everyone at the hotel, which is really shortsighted on management. Expect a long wait to be seated. There should be a to-go or grab and go option at least. They also ran out of the only vegetarian option on the menu by 7pm…

Huge shout out to our server Koa, who was working 5x as hard as everyone else and keeps things running.

Ikon base pass gets 10% off.

I had dinner in this restaurant because I was staying at the Mammoth Mountain Inn hotel so it was convenient to come here. The atmosphere was really nice and the food was good, the only negative point were the expensive prices (30-45$ for a main course).

I had a wonderful dinner during my stay here. I’m traveling solo so I sat at the bar, even though the staff had a huge table they still provided me with great service! My rice and fish were cooked perfectly

Given the server’s poor attitude, lack of resolution, along with the expensive food and tiny portions, it might be best to try dining elsewhere.

We were making a trip down to Anaheim from Idaho and needed to stop somewhere for the night. We happened to choose mammoth mountain inn and while the accommodations were meh, the same should not be said about the bar and grill!

The bartender (Heather) was phenomenal! The hospitality and charm she provides could only be described as southern hospitality at its finest. Marvin, if you read this do yourself a favor and do not let this one go. She’s a crucial part to the pleasure we had while dining in.

The food was astounding and definitely worth the price when considering portions. If you’ve got kids, they’ve got a kid friendly menu, it just isn’t advertised.

This meal was worth every penny and I’d gladly go again!
