So disappointing! I had high hopes to find a go to authentic Italian restaurant in the area but this one did not make the cut. I ordered the Chicken Marsala expecting to be served a traditional version of this favorite dish. It arrived heavily fried and topped with a very tart and unbalanced Marsala sauce. It looked like something you would be served at Kentucky Fried Chicken. A second attempt at the dish was not much better. The chicken had very little flavor and the mushroom sauce was overpowering.

Quaint little restaurant!! The Bread and oil dip was not that good. That being said, the special soup was a seafood curry which was good, and the Calamari was the Best I’ve ever had. It’s a must try if you like Calamari

We’re from out of town and on vacation and loved our visit!! Gabby was our waitress and she as well as the other staff were very friendly, accommodating and got us right in and served. They even made menu accommodations for us. We were a bit nervous when we saw some reviews mention that their food was salty and that WAS NOT our experience whatsoever! Would be tickled to come back . We also enjoyed the Italian music.

The service was ok. The bread and oil were good. But let me just say besides those things, this is the worst Italian food I have ever experienced. There were six of us in my party and only one meal was good (Fettuccine). Everyone else’s was bland, overcooked, extremely extremely salty, or just not good. The ziti tasted like it came out of a can of Chef Boyardee. I got the roast with potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes and asparagus were good but words can’t even explain the roast. It was like a thin piece of fatty leather. I’m not even sure how they prepared it. Maybe it was cooked twice? No roast I’ve ever seen or made could possibly look the way it did under normal circumstances. Everyone else had some form of chicken dish and all were tough and so bland like absolutely no spices were used to flavor. Except the green beans were like pure salt sticks, not just salt sprinkled on top. Like they were soaked in salt because when you chew them they became more and more salty. And all this for $25 a plate! We will NEVER come back here again. We lived in Italy, in Genoa! This is not good Italian food at all! I’m honestly not sure how they are getting all these other good reviews.

Mountainara Cucina Italian restaurant is a quaint place to dine in Woodland Park Colorado. They have one price menu for lunch and dinner. Portion size were good. I order the seared tuna salad and spaghetti carbonera and couldn’t finish either. It was enough for two people to share. The veal marsala was nice. The veal was lightly battered and had a good crisp to it, paired with the mushroom marsala was delicious. The spaghetti carbonara was legit. Light yet full balanced in flavor from the egg sauce and fresh pancetta. The tiramisu is made in house. If you’re in Woodland Park, check out Mountainara. Service was good; Madison was very attentive and took great care of us. There wasn’t a long wait and the food came out quick.

Our server, Nikki, was absolutely wonderful. She had the best personality I’ve ever seen and I’ve been a server myself for 6 years. She severed the whole restaurant by herself with the most wholesome and sweet smile. The drink she made was very very good! So cute too! The food was mouthwatering. It was big enough to split and be full. I loved the atmosphere. Wonderful. Would go back.

This place is cute but small. It’s a good thing we made reservations even for lunch. We ordered from the lunch menu and everything, including the bread and oil was very tasty. The lunch portions are not huge though so might not be enough if you’re like me and went in hungry.

My wife, and I love Mountainara! Oh by the way, my in-laws from New Jersey who are Italian love the food, wine, and service as well. You have to try the Burrata, it is amazing! Thank you for offering Woodland Park an authentic Italian restaurant experience.
