My kids, my husband and I were super excited to try this restaurant after researching where we wanted to eat on the way home from Steven Pass. Our arrival time said 7:25pm and the restaurant closes at 8pm. I understand this is cutting it close but we figured 35 minutes was enough time. My husband walked in first as I waited for our son to finish tying his shoe outside. The lady was super rude and said we stop service at 7:30pm it was 7:27 and she had just sat the white people that walked in 30 seconds before us. I walked in behind my husband to use the restroom, but noticed the sigh said customers only so I waited to ask first.. the same lady came over and said WERE CLOSED!! I said I understand that I wanted to use the restroom she said it’s right there can’t you read the sign. Yeah racist I can, just wanted to make sure I could since I wasn’t dining. I didn’t end up on using the restroom because I was no longer comfortable. We ended up on going to the Mexican diner down the street Maggys! Much better service and not racist!!!

Great stop for what it is. A pretty basic diner with diner food, but a great location and you can see the mountains from the windows. All of the food we got was good and what you’d expect from a diner style restaurant. Portions were decent sized.
Not the friendliest staff, but they did their job so no complaints.
This was our second visit and it’s a place we’d return to if we are in the area looking for a quick meal.

Mountain View delivers exactly what you want in a small roadside cafe. Fast and friendly service, clean with clean restrooms, comfortable booths, and, most importantly, great good (as far as roadside cafes go). Just an overall pleasant experience and a nice place to charge up before or after a hike.

🙂 Thank you for the hot food, hot syrup, tasty food, hot coffee, good cold water, and AMAZING service. We walked in with 12 people around 10:15 and were seated within 5-10 mins. With this being said, we went to this location during the slower hours when they were not busy. The waitress and the food runner were both amazing.
Coffees and water cups were never less than 1/2 empty. I am from out of state and the mountains/clouds were such a beautiful site and great for photos. The only thing that went wrong was we had ONE order of eggs that were under cooked/raw which they immediately recooked perfect within 5 minutes and highly apologize for it. This is a MINOR issue that was fixed instantly. All of our food came out at the same time. All orders were hot & correct.
Thank you for the amazing service.

This was a to go omelette that was 25 dollars. Very overpriced and not that good. I asked to swap their really bad hash whites for English muffins and they charged me 4 dollars extra. I asked the waitress about it and she snapped back with some rude line with no intent to make things right. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this place. Sultan bakery is much better.

Most excellent food. Service was okay, but it took awhile to take our orders. We had very excellent Reuben. And also a most excellent bacon and cheese stuffed omelet. Great job on the food…about the best reuben around.

Love this place!!
Great food Great service.
Small town diner that welcomes all with a smile from open to close. Even the rude ones that occasionally come in leave happier.
Keep up the good work and see you again real soon.

If you’re looking for a classic small-town diner with friendly service and hearty portions, Mountain View Diner in Gold Bar is the perfect stop. The menu is full of tasty, comforting favorites, and the servings are incredibly generous. We had the breakfast sandwich and two hot cakes—when they say “hot cakes,” they mean it! These beauties were as big as the plate and absolutely delicious. The cozy, charming setting makes it a great place to refuel before or after an outdoor adventure. Highly recommend!

The food here was good, nothing to brag about. The sausage tasted like they just cleaned the griddle, almost like a chemical taste. The lady serving us was nice, but it felt forced. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day or what. I do love old diners and would much rather eat at a place like this over a chain, but this place… I will have to try again if I’m ever back in the area to find out if this was just a fluke.
