My husband and I just ate here. We just randomly stopped somewhere, and glad we did. Friendly staff, great food, generous portions. Definitely recommend. The chicken fried steak, grilled chicken sandwich, broccoli cheddar soup and fried mushrooms were superb. Don’t forget to have some of their sweet tea “made the right way”. It was all very good. Loved the family warm environment.

The food here was absolutely delicious, especially the jalapeño cream cheese sauce, which was unforgettable! The service was amazing as well. Tanya took great care of us and really made the experience enjoyable. You can tell the owner, Avery, knows exactly what he is doing in the kitchen. I cant wait to go back and try the made from scratch cinnamon rolls.

I had the chicken fried steak an eggs. The steak was at least twice as big as the menu said, fork tender, fried to perfection. Staff was friendly and attentive. Loved the atmosphere and the music. Well worth the stop.

Fantastic made from scratch yummy food! The chicken fried steak was awesome! We had a group of 13 and were easily accommodated. We all ate a mixture of breakfast & lunch and EVERYONE loves what they got. We were passing through on a trip and will definitely be back if we are ever back this way again for sure! The owner and waitresses were fantastic and super personable! The place you go where they take an order from 13 people with no pen or paper and didn’t mess a single thing up!

Amazing service, views, and food. The hospitality is unmatched and they were extra accommodating. The black bean burger and espresso martini were delicious. Would definitely come back here instead of trying a new spot. So glad we found this gem!

Grilled chicken dinner and Chicken Fried steak were both suggested by our server, and both were knocked out of the park. The salads were simple, but tasty, same with the mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken fried steak was may be the best I’ve ever had, crispy and juicy, tender and had great flavor. The grilled chicken was juicy with a great flavor and was topped with cheese and some amazing mushrooms. Well worth the visit.

We travel from Taos to Denver often. Not sure of this diner, we passed it many times. Let’s give it a try and we did. Surprise, we walked into a casual diner that had the feeling of a restaurant, nice atmosphere, full bar and a large open window exposing the cooking area. Before we opened the menu, the owner and later we learned the chef, greeted and informed us of the special. Impressed we ordered. Our meal literally put us in a happy mood. It was well thought out and wholesome.
Delicious, we put our phones aside and simply enjoyed the satisfying flavours and a very good local beer. The Mountain View diner is the place for local meat and classic dishes. We look forward to our next visit and a great meal….

Stopped in here while we were passing through and we would definitely dine here again next time we go through Fort Garland! The chicken had an exceptional marinade and was full of flavor. Also highly recommend the chicken fried steak. Outstanding customer service and great value. Definitely check these guys out!
