Reviews
The dough was delicious and the toppings were fantastic. Happy they had a garlic base sauce as well.
Up Front Summary for those not wanting to read a longer review:
– Very poor selection of pizzas offered on the buffet
– Pizzas were left on the buffet for over 1hr 10 min (some of the pizzas were there when we arrived and still there when we left 70 min later)
– Extremely rude service (or rather lack thereof)
Details: My family has enjoyed Mountain Mike’s Pizza a multiple times over the last few months. We live in Flying Horse and their restaurant is located about six minutes from our house, plus we thought their pizzas had been a good value (the amount we pay for the quality of product we receive).
Today I took my son on a lunch date to try out the Mountain Mike’s Pizza lunch buffet. I had just recently learned of the lunch buffet’s existence, and probably hadn’t been to a pizza buffet since “back in the day” at Pizza Hut. I have fond memories of enjoying those great buffets with my parents, so I was looking forward to sharing a similar experience with my son.
Unfortunately…a pleasant experience did not occur.
The MMP female employee who was in charge of the restaurant during our visit this afternoon, seemed to make it her personal mission to ruin our experience.
I’m not sure if “Heather” (well, that is the name on my receipt) was just having a bad day, or if she is just genuinely an unpleasant person. From our initial interaction arriving and paying for our buffets, through the multiple conversations I had with her about issues with the buffet…she was simply rude and unpleasant.
During my last interaction with her I said “Have I done something wrong that has upset you? Because you are being quite rude to me.” She did not address my concern with any reply and just walked away into the kitchen.
In the photo I have provided, you can see a few slices of pineapple pizza on the left pizza plate, the majority of some kind of a vegetarian specialty pizza in the middle, and a few slices of a pepperoni pizza on the right. The pineapple and vegetarian pizzas were obviously not desired since they sat uneaten for over an hour.
When I requested for some other pizzas to be made, I was told (by “Heather”) that until those were eaten, no new pizzas would be made. When I asked her “If nobody ever eats them, then how am I supposed to get different pizzas to eat?”, she replied “You can purchase any pizza you want to eat.”
I explained to her that I had already made a purchase…that of the buffet, and that I should be getting the opportunity to eat fresh and different pizzas. She disagreed.
Summary: My family has enjoyed their pizzas in the past. However, now that I have had an incredibly negative experience with them…it looks like it will be only Walters 303 pizzas from here moving forward!
