SO glad to have a community restaurant again! Food and service great. Dishes all made with fresh produce. Everything we ate was beautifully prepared and tasty. Go early, crowds form after 6pm.

We’ve been watching & waiting for Mountain Madre to open on Merrimon! We can walk to you! The food was absolutely delicious & the margarita with lava salt was perfect! My only issue was the lack of salsa served with my dish, avocado verde (missing from photo because it was first forgotten). If you want more salsa you must pay for it which is fine,however, the tiny tablespoon in a tin cup was insufficient. If you’d like chips for the table you must order them off the menu. The atmosphere & vibes are lovely! Welcome to North Asheville!

As a longtime fan of the downtown location, I was thrilled to hear that there was a second location opening near our home. I finally got to go there tonight with a couple of friends and it did not disappoint! The food was just as great as the downtown location. And our server, Meg, was fantastic! She accommodated all of our requests and made The perfect suggestions for us. She was super friendly, attentive and didn’t miss a beat when we challenged her with separate checks and gift cards! I suspect this location will be a regular stop for us going forward.

So the entire experience was a let down. I feel like a restaurant should be judged by the quality of its food.
But for me it’s never a good sign when the waiter addresses my wife directly and never looks at me
Anyway I just feel that someone doesn’t care how they appear
That being said the street corn tasted like it came out of a can and the pulled pork tasted like it was pulled out of the refrigerator and reheated on a grill, texture and taste was off.
This place seems at best like a Applebees ( no offense to Applebees)
It’s too bad because the atmosphere is really nice
But $90 for a simple meal that was mediocre at best and we will not be returning

My husband and I live a few blocks up from this place and have been here four times. We were big fans of The Usual Suspects back in the day, then Avenue M for years, and were excited to welcome Mountain Madre to the neighborhood. I have nothing but praise for the food, the drinks, the service, and the atmosphere of this place. The owner seems always present and very friendly, and the servers are attentive and thoughtful. Second time we were there we had a few family members with us. We sat in front on the sofa and soft chairs, and when our food came, we flipped our clipboard menus over like TV trays and had a great little party.

The parking situation is a bit confusing. I wish the bike shop next door (I think that’s what it is) would let them use their parking after hours. Or have a sign that tells people where to park.
That said – good was delicious. Server kind and attentive and sweet and a manager stopped at every table.

Everything I’ve ordered here over the multiple times that I’ve eaten at Mountain Madre has been terrific. The carne asada is fire! The drinks are great. The service is excellent.

I’ve been to Mountain Madre a few times, and the food is always consistently delicious. On my last visit, I had exceptional service from a new server, Rae. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond which added to our overall experience. Highly recommend!
