My coworker and I were in the area for work last week, staying in Clinton at an Airbnb where we came upon Moultrie in our search for a dinner spot. We could not have made a better choice. So much so that we both agreed that there was no point in looking for another place for dinner on night two of our stay. Both visits we were greeted by a friendly lady at the door and promptly shown to our table. Both nights we started with the loaded fries (fries, cheese, bacon & jalapenos). Soooo good! Night one I got the shrimp alfredo which was incredible. The shrimp could not have been cooked better and the pasta was very good. My buddy got the massive buffalo chicken sandwich that we both agreed could have fed two people. Night two I ordered the boneless fried chicken & mashed potatoes covered with white gravy and my coworker got the NY Strip. Both were wildly tasty! I believe that cooking everything in beef tallow takes these dishes to another level! We’ll be back in town in a few weeks for work and I will definitely be stopping back in for another (hopefully) great meal. Well done team! Really great experiences both nights.

We were driving from Greenville to Clinton and Googled this place. It’s just a few miles off the highway. This place is a hidden gem in the historical part of Lauren.
Julie and Connie were amazing!! They made us feel at home with their Southern hospitality.
The steak and fries was delicious. I highly recommend stopping by the town of Lauren and enjoying Southern hospitality at Moultrie.

We had the Pimento Cheese ball appetizer and the Philly cheese steak entree. The cheese steak was delicious and fries done to a dark crispy as we had asked for. Will return here to check out their burger.

My friends and went to Moultrie for lunch today. There were 5 in total. We were really looking forward to eating there for the first time, However we were quickly disappointed. We were there by 12:22, and seated. The waitress took our drink order, we then gave our lunch order. Nothing complicated, burger sliders, chicken sandwiches, fettuccine Alfredo and wings. While we waited for our food, we had to find the waitress to refill our drinks as she didnt come back to check on us. We asked about our food and she said the kitchen is slow today. No apology. We saw people come in after us get seated and served their meals. At 1:16 we were only one of 3 tables left in the restaurant, we still had no food and the man across from us who came in well after us, was now eating his nice, hot steak and fries. I spoke to the manager, explained it was not acceptable to have customers wait so long for food. She blamed it on the kitchen, not taking responsibility for the lack of customer service or the kitchen. About 10 minutes later our food was brought out. It was luke warm, fries were not fresh, they were dry and old like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. All of our food was luke warm like it had been sitting for some time. We were so disappointed in the food and the poor service as our waitress really had an aloof maner and was not attentive at all. The manager did give each of us a discount after i asked her for one, since the service was bad. It was approximately $1.69 each which didnt make up for bad service & disappointing food. Overall We had waited an hour for food. Really unacceptable..
We try and support local businesses when we go to lunch. However, we will not be back to Moultrie at all.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and that unmistakable feeling of Southern charm. The service was outstanding helping us decide what to choose as we had a hard time making a decision and she did not steer us wrong! The food here is absolutely delicious! The homemade chicken and dumplings are out of this world—comforting, flavorful, and just like Grandma used to make. Every bite tastes like home.
What makes Moultrie Southern Cuisine so special is the family behind it. They pour their hearts into everything they do, and it truly shows—from the food to the friendly service. If you’re in Laurens and want a taste of genuine Southern hospitality, this is the place to go.
