We had done a lot of research on this restaurant and it exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing- clean, fresh ingredients layered into flavorful dishes. We loved the seafood themed menu and had the wine pairing with unique pours that complemented the food. It is hard to say what my favorite dish was- crab claws, shrimp and okra gumbo, potato salad or stuffed crab… They were able to accommodate a gluten allergy. Most of the recipes are gluten free. (I let them know about my allergy when I made the reservation. ) Our server was really great- informative, attentive but relaxed. Truly a special experience.

Everything was absolutely excellent. We sat at the communal dining table and met some lovely people over an amazing meal. The staff (Daniel, Emily, and Jake) were so friendly and knowledgeable. Every recipe has a rich history and philosophy behind it. Wonderful ambience and incredible food, can only recommend!

In general the meal was an interesting experience. The food was good but lacking in a few departments. The gumbo was quite lite in flavor and consistency. It lacked in depth to really deliver that punch and was absent of shrimp. The shrimp and watermelon with peanuts might have been the highlight for me. It was refreshing and simple, but still lacking in the flavor forward tastes I’m used to in this region.
The other issue I have is the price…
With 2 drinks I ended up spending $245 for dinner for 1. I have an incredibly hard time rationalizing spending that kind of money for an underwhelming meal and an environment that is cozy and novel but does not warrant that kind of bill. There was little to no effort put into presentation of most dishes and everything was family style. Again, I appreciate the novelty of this style of meal, but for that kind of money I would imagine it being a little more personalized. Finally, for that kind of money I would expect a plethora of options and a real feast. I basically filled up on the gumbo because everything else was small and I had to share with random people at the communal table. Not to be repetitive but I appreciate the rustic nature, I just think they need to level up the food and ambiance to warrant that expensive of a price point.

Mosquito Supper Club was one of the most memorable dining experiences I had in New Orleans. The communal seating immediately creates a warm, intimate atmosphere — it feels more like being invited to someone’s home than eating at a traditional restaurant.
The meal is served family-style, and every dish felt deeply rooted in Cajun tradition. The seafood was incredibly fresh, the flavors rich but balanced, and each course told a story of Louisiana heritage. You can really taste the care and authenticity in the cooking.
Overall, it’s not just dinner — it’s an experience. Thoughtful, immersive, and beautifully reflective of South Louisiana culture.

Unique experience with quality food. Would come back again. Loved interacting with the other patrons.
Only downside, wish it wasn’t 1 hour between when main course served and when dessert was served.

I went in with great expectations. The space is lovely – and filled with character. The food was good – not great. The confit duck was so dry I wasn’t sure it ever touched fat.
The hardest challenge was the service. Our server didn’t acknowledge my requests and rolled her eyes when we asked for half and half for the coffee. Apparently that’s saved for the pastry team. Unfortunately with this price point- that’s unacceptable. Our requests, though minimal, were met with resistance.
If you’re charging $250 per person – bring the cream. The hit on the head though was charging us $4 for coffee at the end of the meal. It was an odd choice for a prepaid meal with wine pairing and didn’t leave us with the he best impression. We also received “salty apple cider” as our first wine – barely palatable.
Skip the club and go to St Claire. It’s a far better experience with incredible service and food. We won’t be back.

We truly loved our dinner experience here. We sat outside on patio and the ambiance was perfect. The crawfish bisque and tomato salad were standouts for us, but we throughly enjoyed every dish and left feeling very full!
If you aren’t sure about making a reservation and committing to their full menu, as long as their outdoor seating is open, you can sit on picnic tables in the front and order a la carte.

A transcendent experience, truly. From the moment we walked in, we felt the home-grown love and care put into the atmosphere and continued through each bite of the meal. Velma Marie’s oyster soup is one of, if not, the best constructed and flavorful portions of a prix-fixe I’ve ever enjoyed — like a warm hug you long for from your grandmother.
I’m so glad we set aside time to visit MSC during our first visit to NOLA. It stands out as a core memory and one we won’t soon forget. Go — and wine pair, too.

We had a great experience at Mosquito Supper Club. It is located at a standalone historic house in a residential neighborhood. We were greeted at the door and were promptly seated. We had our own separate table, but the restaurant also offers communal tables which is great for those who like to interact with fellow diners. Overall the food and the service was great. Our server was very informative when selecting our wine and did a great job explaining the various menu items as they were served. Hard to pick a favorite but the oyster soup and the pickled shrimp were really memorable.
Note that the restaurant is easily accessible from the French Quarter/Central Business District via the historic St Charles Streetcar and a short walk.So the trips to/from the restaurant really complete the experience.

The food was good. I wish I could come up with a better adjective, but “good” seems to be the best IMHO. The waitress mentioned that the $70 wine paring would be “transformative”, multiple times. I don’t think i finished any of the 4 pairings. Definitely not 3 of them. I’m not a picky eater or drinker. Nothing at this place, at least last night, stood out to me to earn 5 stars.
