This is my favorite restaurant in NoHo! I’m here at least once a week when I can come. I’m from NY and sushi is my favorite food. Moshi Moshi is comparable, if not better, than places I go in NY. Sam and Kim are the best! I always feel so welcomed and the food is excellent. Can’t wait to go back soon!

Do I have a new favorite sushi place? Yes, yes I do. The food is fresh and delicious. The prices are on the high side but well worth it. Service treats you like family (this is not an exaggeration). The only drawback here is seating, it’s tight, not great for larger groups. If it’s a hot day, try to avoid the second floor (outdoor dining is perfection). If you can get a table downstairs or sit at the sushi bar, go for it. Try to avoid at peak busy times. You must try this place if you enjoy sushi, are in the area, and want a truly delightful culinary experience.

I hadn’t been in years, but made a point to return during this trip to visit my family and I’m so glad I did! My partner and I shared the agedashi tofu appetizer, a charashi don, and an oyakodon and were both well satisfied for lunch. We loved the portions and the flavors, the service was fantastic, and we’ll be back the next time we’re in town!

This is a great little family owned and operated restaurant, and it reminds me of the restaurants in Japan that are owner operated. When we walked in, the owner gave us a hearty greeting, and motioned for us to sit at the sushi bar, which we did. 🙂

We ordered a variety of nigiri, oysters on the half shell, and hamachi kama, and they were all good. Our favorite was the Ikura with quail egg.

The owner was very nice and we had a great conversation throughout our meal. We would definitely go here again, the next time we are in the area.

First time visiting this place today, and my boyfriend and I had a great experience! Service was incredibly quick and the restaurant was quiet when we were there. The staff and chefs were very friendly.

For the food: My boyfriend said that these were “the best oysters he’s had in his life” and I really enjoyed my veggie gyoza appetizer. We’ll definitely be back!

Always an incredible meal by Sam! Sushi is always such high quality that he won’t even let you order something if he doesn’t have it fresh. Amazing doesn’t describe the noodle dishes!

Hours- Saturday hours on Google are incorrect. The place shuts down from 2pm til 5 PM while the staff is getting ready for dinner crowd. This was extremely inconvenient as we had to spend money on extra parking and also try to find something else to do for few hours.
Staff- The moment you walk in , you imidiately face the sushi bar and the big chef of the house, the man himself who greats you and then hits his gong with a mallet to let everyone know that you have arrived, VIP is here! I thought it was great. The male waiter welcomed us next and offered us few areas to sit down in, we wanted to stay next to the chef so we stayed downstairs at the sushi bar. (They do have main sitting area upstairs)
Food- The place offers Omakase, so we went with that ONLY because the chef was very friendly. We had multiple variations of sushi and sashimi made by chef and his staff. All the foods were photographed for this review, except the eel temaki.
Toro was so fat and so smooth, with a very mild fish flavor.
The oysters with raw quail egg were probably my favorite, absolutely brilliant! So smooth, nothing funky, just smooth and delicious!
Yellowtail was fresh tasting.
Their rice in the sushi was great as well (I dont know what all these Daves and Maries complain about it)

One negative thing about our experience- the woman kept on making sure we’re OK with the price of Omakase after we had repeated multiple times we didnt care about the price tag we wanted the experience (so that kind of put me back in my seat for a quick minute but it’s ok, or as my husband said they probably experienced some fools before and so they’re trying to protect themselves against that kind of crowd)
Overall, it is a great place for good quality sushi right here in DT NoHo.
Prices are reasonable for normal menu items. Omakase cost us about $60 a person, and with some sake we looked at about $150 when we were done.
Thank you.

Honeymoon oyster was great, and I really recommend it. It’s probably a best seller here. Second best would probably be the shiitake mushrooms. However, the rest of the meal was underwhelming. It was just so-so. I wouldn’t say it’s the worst but it’s definitely just the bare minimum. Everything was overpriced in my opinion (sautéed shiitake mushrooms was $9, salmon avocado roll was $9 – we got two in the pictures, and chicken curry udon was $17).
The staff was very nice and they even let our dog hang out with us since we sat outside. Our dog is kind of barky at first so I’m so glad they let him stay anyways. The food was just mid but the staff was great. I would probably return for the honeymoon oysters but that’s it.

I am a huge sushi fan and I’ve been to many different sushi restaurants. I can honestly say this is THE BEST sushi I’ve EVER had! We have been about 9-10 times and every single time it’s been amazing.

The Sam I Am roll (pictured below) is a must as he does his own special creation and uses very unique ingredients you won’t often find in other places. Hadley roll is probably my favorite as well as the rice bombs

Give them a shot and I promise you won’t be disappointed
