In my 50 years of eating Mexican food, this restaurant and their food rank in the top 3. The service was excellent and the food astounding. I spoke with the manager and two of the wait staff after my meal in order to let them know my thoughts concerning my meal. I told them that my initial way of judging a Mexican restaurant is to taste the hot sauce and the refried beans.

Both are excellent here, not to mention the homemade tortillas being made on a machine right in front of the kitchen. Lovely, crisp, fresh, and thin.

I had chicken flautas….oh my. Heavenly. I thought I had too much on my plate to finish however the flautas convinced me otherwise. I was told by the manager that everything here is fresh and not from a can. Once you dine here you’ll know it’s true. Not that they use only fresh tomatoes to make their hot sauce, but maybe?

I love the soups. They are very special .Great flavor and fulfilling. A cup of soup takes me back to my childhood, when it rained (not often) here in AZ, my mom would cook soup and delight our family. I can close my eyes and eat this wonderful soup and feel my mom’s love and special care. Mosaic has a cheesy soup and shredded beef soup that are some of the best I have had. They also make tortillas and that is another story. God bless those who make homemade soup and tortillas!

Everything was great, excellent service by Nubia she was very attentive and nice.
When we get there was busy we wait about 15min to get sit. But after that food come out fast. Nubia recommend hot chocolate with coffee that was so good. I get the plate number #7 that was an enchilada with tamale, beans and white eggs, with fresh hand made tortillas that they just made at the end of the room where everyone can see it. My family gets cheese omelette, chorizo with cheese omelette, pancakes, chilaquiles with black beans and eggs and menudo. Everything was on point. We definitely recommend and we are going back.

Small casual diner (go to the original for special evening). Food is very good by Tucson standards. Two salsas the hotter of the two is pretty good for a thin (not chunky) salsa. Food is not smothered in cheddar cheese but closer to realistic farmer’s cheese. Chicken tacos were quite good. Did not try their mole but might be good considering their advertised Oaxacan roots.
Will be back.

First time here and it was a positive experience! Food was delicious. I recommend the enchilada-style chimichangas. Everything tasted like it was made with care.

Our experience here was unfortunately disappointing. When we arrived, we weren’t greeted and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table to be cleaned before being seated. We placed the order right away for our two little ones under 2, and thankfully their meals came out fairly quickly.

However, we ended up waiting about an hour for the rest of our food, and when it arrived, several items weren’t quite right. The cheese inside the enchiladas was cold and hard, the enchiladas con crema were mostly sour cream inside the tortilla, and the green corn tamale was very dry.

I understand restaurants can get busy especially on Saturday and Sunday, but this being our first visit, it was disappointing that the food and service didn’t meet expectations. I truly hope this feedback helps improve future guest experiences.

We had a table of 4 adults and two kinds
under 2.

Outstanding experience.
I enjoyed the huevos rancheros with refried beans and an accompanying flour tortilla.
Additionally I enjoyed a side order of chips and salsa and an ice water with lemon.
My bill was under $16.
Food was hot fresh and delicious the service was impeccable.
Would highly recommend.

Came for lunch on Monday at 1130.

4 other tables occupied when I got here.
Since I had an hour for lunch, figured would have plenty of time.
Was given chips and salsa after ordering which was a good thing, because it took 40 min to get food.

Pork loin good
Carne asada tasteless tough shoe leather
Enchiladas and relleno fine

Much better options in town

The tamal, breakfast enchiladas with scrambled eggs, was authentically prepared. The red menudo was delicious, with the appropriate condiments. Service with a smile.
