Went to Morty’s Café last weekend with my sister, her boyfriend, & my dad. I wasn’t super hungry so I just ordered a side of fries. These fries were some of the best fries I’ve ever had though!!! My dad ordered a patty melt. The marbled rye bread looked really good. My sister ordered the chicken cali sandwich & her boyfriend ordered the mortician burger. My sister said she loved the chicken cali sandwich, she said the chili sauce was a nice twist & an upgrade to the sandwich. Portion size was decent too! It took a little bit to receive our food, but once we received it we all inhaled it & really liked it! I also thought it was cool that they offered a student deal since it’s really close to Syracuse High School & I also liked how they give you your own bottle of fry sauce. Sometimes asking for packets or more fry sauce can be such a pain at places. I would definitely go back. Excited to try one of their veggie burgers next time!

The food is good for the price point. If the burgers had seasoning that would help. The atmosphere could use some flair and maybe some music…maybe with time? Some of the tables are wobbly, but that’s an easy fix. Service is excellent and the staff is friendly. I will be back to try a milkshake next!

Came here for a work lunch and enjoyed myself though could have been better.
When you walk in you’re greeted by a cool patio setting to sit and eat , though there isn’t much shade or light protected seating for your eyes.
Then you come in and see the menu. I like that everything had picture visuals. Though there are no words describing what’s actually in it. The cashier brought us over a menu to look at with more details which was helpful.
We placed our order and the girl who helped us was very nice. She made sure all customizations were heard and taken care of. Then told us they will call us when our food is ready.
Turns out they delivered it to us outside. The food came out hot and fresh but my meal came out incorrectly. They forgot the egg and burger on my meal. When I shared that the gal immediately apologized and said she will get that fixed.
Within 3 minutes my burger and egg made it out fully cooked. Sweet pita fries tasted like fresh sweet potatoes.
Food overall was great and so was the service. Though I wish it came out the right way the first time.
Id give this place another chance!

We were excited to eat here. The serving portions for the price we paid wasn’t great. The sweet potato fries and onion rings tasted great. The burgers were bland. Kind of upsetting that combos are only on Thursdays.
Burger patties are thin. I got the Iconic burger with sauce and my daughter got the iconic burger with no sauce. Husband got the Reuben sandwich with a kick but there was no kick. The plain kid burger, the patty was dry and had no flavor. The staff was friendly.

Thank you, Genesis, Malachi, Ashton, and Maddy! This is one of our very favorite places for food and just to be able to feel comfortable! This is my favorite burger and fries!Everything is always clean and tidy! The friendly service is outstanding! The food is amazing and consistently delicious! We originally went for the eight dollar Thursday hamburger and fries deal which is something everyone loves! We were impressed with the wonderful people who nurture and feed you there. We were also very happy to see the program they have for students. Students can bring in a student ID and receive a hamburger and fry meal for less than eight dollars any day of the week. This place is obviously trying to make sure that all students have access to good nutrition. We also love the breakfast burritos, and the shakes. Bonus, they bring the fry sauce to you and you are able to squeeze the right amount into a little cup so that you never run out! These are definitely our favorite burgers! We give this place our highest recommendation!

Gave into the hype ..so I went to check it out. Food was decent.. burgers and amount of fries you get are very small for the high prices they charge. Definitely did not get full from my meal. Too many better, cheaper burgers around town to go back. Dining area was cluttered and could use some attention. Understaffed during our visit as well. Has a lot of potential with a few adjustments.

We had never been here before and wanted to try something new. The food was pretty expensive, but our burgers and fries were delicious! The buns were super soft and their fry sauce was really good. We almost didn’t go there because a few of the reviews said the burgers were bland and we didn’t want to spend a bunch of money to be disappointed. Luckily that was not the case at all! Would definitely recommend this place

Very good crepes! For $16 a crepe, however, I wish it filled me up more. I would come back on occasion. I like the table set up too! They have conversation strips.

Amazing food, great people and great location. The sunny side up burger was delicious. The fries are battered and very good. They have gluten free buns and vegetarian options the regular fries are not gluten free but the sweet potato fries are. Excited to come back and try the scone fries. Breakfast is served all day. And they are open on Sunday. Also this place is very reasonably priced.

We’ve previously had no issues with the food and service we’ve received from Morty’s, but this evening was a decidedly different experience. Part of our order included two of the Bourbon Pork Salads. When we returned home with the food, it was abundantly clear we did not receive what we’d ordered. Both salads had what appeared to be a mildly-seasoned, broken up beef patty as the included protein (though it was allegedly a pork patty); it did NOT include any “Spice Bourbon BBQ pulled pork” as advertised.
The lettuce in the salad was also not remotely shredded and was instead basically layered in slabs beneath all the salad “toppings.” With the size of the takeaway bowl, and the density of the toppings (one of the few good things about the salad), it was basically impossible to get anything but an entire lettuce leaf with a single bite. There was also a complete lack of BBQ sauce on the salad, nor were there any plastic ramekins containing sauce sent with us, which feels especially odd for something claiming to be a BBQ salad.
We called the Syracuse location to ask if we’d somehow gotten the wrong thing, and we were told they’d run out of pulled pork, so they’d put a different pork on the salad. It’d be one thing if we’d been told at the store or, ideally, someone had called after we placed our order to tell us what we were going to be receiving was fundamentally different from what appears on the menu and what we ordered and had given us the opportunity to change our order.
Overall, a really disappointing experience from a restaurant we’ve previously enjoyed.
