Reviews
The overall dining experience was a bit underwhelming. The last time I was at Morton’s was a few years back and I remember it being a good experience.
This time around I can’t say the same.
First and foremost, SARAH was our server and she did a phenomenal job. Unfortunately, for her, she was training two trainees that night and only had one other server as an assistant, and with that being said, he was not much help. Not sure if he was new or not, but his hospitality skills were not the best.
I ended up getting the 5 course meal special they had going on. For appetizer and starter, I did oyster Rockefeller and the lobster bisque. The bisque was a bit on the salty side.
The entree: Bourbon glazed salmon with the broccolini and carrots. The salmon itself did not really taste like bourbon glaze more so just a brown sugar glaze, pretty sweet but good. 6/10.
The carrots were raw, especially for a “glazed carrot”. Everyone at the table who had carrots had the same review. The cream spinach was not good. I would give that a 3/10. Very earthy taste hardly any flavor/seasoning. The garlic mashed potatoes weren’t that great either. Legitimately just tasted like mashed potatoes, no butter or salt present.
I also ended up getting a side of the truffle corn… Nothing about that side had truffle in it. Truffle is a very distinctive taste, and you could not taste it at all. To me it tasted like a regular cream corn, but more so on the oniony side.
Overall the dining experience was pretty underwhelming, it was not busy that night.
There were a few people in the bar area. There was one private party and later on in the evening another party showed up, about an hour after we had been there.
I feel like the service was a bit slow… More so in regards to how quickly the food came out & how organized food delivery was. I also feel majority of the table’s food came out warm, when we initially put in our order we asked for them to bring it out as soon as it came ready.
Would like to give it another try in the future but definitely have to knock Morton’s down on my list of my fav fine dining steakhouses.
I just have to get right into the good news : litterally the best New York Strip Steak I have even eaten. I chose the black truffle butter to accompany the steak and it was just amazing. Cooked to perfection, seasoned perfectly.
I had burbon (mid range choice im not a millionnaire) and it was great discovering local burbon in the region of Kentucky. The waiter was really good at his job.
The chocolate desert you see in the pictures is made from scratch when you order it (it takes about 20 minutes to make once ordered) but it is worth it. the sauce that accompanies the cheesecake had a hint of burbon as well which was a nice touch. I could talk more but everything was good so I litterally don’t have much more to say other than praises for this place. ratings should be higher.
oh almost forgot. they make a fresh loaf of bread as you can see in one of the pictures. arrives hot and delicious.
Concept of the place is you have a plate with your meat on it and you order sides that they put in the middle of the table to share with others.
The Wagyu meatballs were cold, the Caesar salad was pickley, the baked potatoes were greasy and also cold and our steaks were decent but unimpressive for the price. Our waitress (Anny I believe was her name) absolutely amazing! I just feel like if you’re going to be considered as a fine dining restaurant, there should be a kitchen manager that makes sure the quality of the food being served is exceptional as this is a pricey establishment. If I wasn’t scared the waitress would lose her tip, I would dispute this charge from my bank because I don’t feel the value was worth it.
Our server, Sarah, was truly top-notch. Her recommendations were spot-on, her timing was perfect, and on top of that she is absolutely hilarious. She made us feel completely comfortable and turned what could have been just a great dinner into a genuinely unforgettable night.
Demi, the hostess, went above and beyond in the most thoughtful way. She added a special touch to our table to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary, took our picture, and consistently checked in to make sure we were happy and comfortable. That extra care truly meant so much to us.
Ethan, the assistant manager, seated us and even helped deliver our food, which speaks volumes about the teamwork and pride at this location.
Between Sarah, Demi, and Ethan, we felt genuinely celebrated and cared for — not just served. On top of the incredible service, the food was an easy 10/10 across the board. Everything was perfectly prepared, flavorful, and exactly what you hope for in a top-tier steakhouse.
This was hands down the best service we’ve ever had, and it made our anniversary incredibly special. Morton’s Louisville has set the bar extremely high, and we can’t wait to return.
My lady and I came here for our anniversary, and right off the bat or server took a photo of us and put it on our table. And I highly recommend the Old Fashioned, if you’re looking for a good cocktail. We sampled a little bit of everything. For an appetizer, we got the shrimp, which came with a sauce that was just out of this world. I ended up keeping it to dip my bread.
For our entree, I got the ribeye, and she got the filet and lobster tail. My first bite was so good I had to pause for a minute to just savor it and allow my taste buds to celebrate. We also tried the potatoes au gratin and the lobster mac and cheese. They tasted amazing but the portions were so generous that we couldn’t do more than a few bites (but they still tasted great the next day).
This is a real dining experience. You’ll be talking about it for months after.
