Drinks were very unique with a somewhat Indian twist. I got a Mango Tango-something and then some “After Hours at the Tea House” coconut cocktail. That coconut drink was DELICIOUS! I wish I had two of those!
Service was quick and we were lucky to snag a table. I love their light up marble bar…. Perfect y for foodie pix! Too bad it was packed with people! Hee.
Since this spot is right next to the garage, I would definitely come back!
Up front, you’ve got Indian food doing what Indian food does best — seducing your senses with spice, sass, and absolutely no apology. Out back? A moody little hideaway where the lighting is low, the vibes are high, and the cocktails arrive dressed better than most of the patrons.
The drinks are an eclectic love affair between alcohol (or not — we respect a sober king/queen) and Indian flavours that wink at you before they hit you. Think cardamom with commitment issues. Tamarind with attitude. Chili that doesn’t shout — it smirks.
It’s the kind of place that works equally well for:
A loud, laughing group who swears they’re “just having one,”
Or a conspiratorial corner booth moment with a special friend… or that “we’re not calling this anything yet” situation.
The cocktails match the mood — a little sweet, a little dangerous, and just spicy enough to keep the conversation interesting.
In short: it’s a dive bar with class, character, and just enough mischief to make you text someone you probably shouldn’t.
Lee is the man, he helped us navigate the food and drink menus, and made us feel welcome.
The foot was excellent, flavorful, and enough spice.
Definitely a place to go if you’re in downtown San Mateo!
