The stars are simply for the service. The 2 female waitresses were very friendly and attentive.

The food was horrible. Hands down the WORST country fried steak I’ve ever had. There was almost no breading and what was there was soggy. The meat was hard. Literally tough to cut through. I only took 2 bites of that. My boyfriend agreed how terrible it was. The country potatoes were plain. Most places cook them with onions and peppers, not here. Barely seasoned. The eggs and toast were fine. But I mean, it’s eggs and toast.

Overall I wouldn’t come here again. Even with the friendly service.

Yeah! This is open at 7:00AM. Recommend ordering dishes with Mexican influence. These seem more consistent.

If you’re looking for a delightful dining experience, Morongo Valley Cafe is an absolute gem! This charming cafe has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike, and it’s easy to see why.

The breakfast menu is nothing short of impressive. They offer a variety of delicious options, including fluffy pancakes, hearty omelets, savory breakfast burritos, and classic eggs Benedict. Each dish is made with care and showcases fresh ingredients that keep patrons coming back for more. People rave about their signature breakfast items, which have earned a reputation for being both generous in portion and rich in flavor.

The service here is exceptional. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring that your coffee cup is never empty with their unlimited refills. And let’s not forget the homemade butter—it’s the perfect touch that elevates every dish. Smooth, creamy, and made with love, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss.

Morongo Valley Cafe also has a rich history that has allowed it to stand the test of time. It has been a staple in the community for years, offering a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels at home. The combination of great food, outstanding service, and a sense of community has made it a cherished destination.

I wholeheartedly recommend Morongo Valley Cafe to anyone looking for a fantastic breakfast. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this cafe is a must-visit. You’ll leave with a full belly and a smile on your face, and you’ll understand why so many people love coming here!

Found this very hometown feeling country café on the way to Joshua tree national park. This place is an excellent restaurant to stop at to grab breakfast.

The food here is also really good. It is basically country style, with a ton of omelettes, scrambles, and other things you can expect to find an American breakfast diner. I tried the omelette with chili cheese, and it was very good.

They serve drinks here such as beer, coffee, and other juices. The service was ultra fast and friendly. From the time we sat down, we were eating in about 10 minutes.

Definitely recommend that you make the stop either before or after you visit the national park if that is where you’re heading

Was passing through in the morning so stopped here. Service was very friendly. Food is standard, nothing much to note. Bacon was small strips, biscuits and gravy was ok. Gravy pretty good, but biscuits were just bread, not very done or golden on the outside. Typical small town diner.

A staple and an icon of the Morongo Basin.
Been coming here since I was a child and despite changing ownership, they have remained consistent over the decades. One of the last few places up here that hasn’t sold out to the tourists. Don’t come here expecting your fancy gentrifier lavender frilly coffee. Proper Diner with very reasonable prices. Love the new Hispanic influences on the food and the homemade salsa makes a wonderful addition to lots of the American classics !!

I hope to keep coming here for more decades to come !!

It’s been awhile since I have visited the Morongo Valley cafe. A perfect stop on your way to Palm Springs. Absolutely love these old nostalgic cafes along the road. I’m not sure how long the cafe has been here, but definitely a long long time. Love the Place & Decor. It is well-kept, and very clean, including the bathrooms. The waitress was very attentive and welcoming from beginning to end. I ordered a omelette with hash browns. I always add cheese and grilled onions to my hash browns. These were probably the best hash browns I have had in many many years. Thoroughly enjoyed my relaxing breakfast. I will be back very soon.

What a wonderful stop on a long drive home. Fueled up for the ride. Super friendly, welcoming and charming cafe. I had a nice meal with great smiles. It was a nice send off from an awesome weekend in the Desert. Happy I found them on the way home. Support Small Family Businesses!

We had a great brunch here on the way to Joshua Tree NP, Food was fabulous, we had the Denver omelette and chicken salad sandwich with coleslaw, everything fresh and made there. Service was friendly and professional. Great local spot for breakfast-lunch if you’re traveling in the area!

Really great spot for breakfast/brunch/lunch! Good prices and portions, and everything is cooked really well (almost healthy, too). The hash browns and homefries aren’t greasy at all and are super crispy and the chicken fried steak isn’t really fried, but rather lightly breaded and then griddled. Coffee was just okay. The biscuits and gravy was also very good – a generous portion for the single, with good, thick sausage gravy and a pillowy biscuit. Would definitely recommend!
