1st time visiting. Arrived at 2:20pm. We were brusquely directed to a booth. Food was very flavorful— recommend the skillets and pumpkin pancakes. I wasn’t offered a refill on my drink. No butter or syrup with the pancakes; had to ask. The restaurant is very clean. Staff started mopping floors before we left. They wanted us out by 3pm!

I’m updating my review because I had very different experiences on separate visits.
On one visit, the service was great and the waitress was attentive, which is why I originally left a good review.
However, on another visit, the experience was very disappointing. Our order was wrong, service was slow, and we had to repeatedly ask for basic things like refills and tea. We were in a rush to go to the airport and couldn’t even complain about the wrong order. We also felt unwelcome.
When we were leaving, the manager looked directly at my family and made a cutting gesture with his hand while communicating with staff. It made us feel uncomfortable and, frankly, discriminated against. My son didn’t eat his wrong order, and we left feeling unwelcome.
I hope management addresses this, as inconsistent service and such behavior made the visit very unpleasant.

1st time dining in and was very pleased with the fun service and delicious food. The waffle was fresh, crispy & tasty. The soup was hot and flavorful. The chicken, strawberry, and pecan salad was filling, refreshing, and yummy. The sweet potato fries were a great table share. This place did NOT disappoint. Can’t wait to go back.

Food was bomb! Hats off to the chefs. I wish our waitress was a little friendlier. But she was still pleasant, adequate service. Place was giving old timey vibes, not sure why, but we loved it. Pretty cozy and warm even though it was freezing outside. Great prices too!

I’m writing a review so either this place is amazing or terrible. It’s the latter. Our waitress was nowhere to be found, so the hostess had to help us. The table next to us ordered their food after we did (and it was the hostess who took our order, our neighbors got a waitress), but we had to wait twice as long as they did for our food. The food was good, but not worth feeling like we’re getting discriminated against good. The coffee is terrible. I highly advise against having any of their lattes, the espresso was worse than their regular coffee and it tasted like something spoiled when I tried mine. The best part of this restaurant is when they had the sign that said “OPEN 7 TO 3 D INE_N C URBSIDE ON LINE”.

Each and every time I go to Morningside Cafe the service is always warm and welcoming. The food is quite tasty and comes out quickly. I’ve dined solo, group or somewhere in between and each time it was a great experience.

Lettuce on my BLT was extraordinarily crispy and fresh; the pickle, however, was sub-par in its crispyness. My BLT came to me cut in triangluar fashion, adorned with elegant curly cellophane toothpicks. The side of fries given with my DELUXE sandwich were perhaps the most exquisitely crunchy, delightful fluffy, and beautifully salted fries I’ve ever been served in the entirety of my existence. The creamer selection was name-brand and offered many different flavors for your flavorful coffee needs, half and half was also availiable. Every table there had hot sauce and ketchup available for your pleasure to use. The soup offered on the tenth of October in the year of our lord 2025 was chicken noodle; there was an interesting noodle choice made, but was rather tasty nonetheless. The menu does need to be cleaned; it was speckled with a sticky substance, but it was not too bothersome. The wait staff was diligent and friendly. Overall, my mother and I had a splendid experience at your establishment.

Came here last Sunday morning. The place has been around for a while. Old school restaurant look and feel that is clean and well maintained. The men’s washroom is immaturely clean. The plates, cups and silverware were clean and not worn. The owner and folks who work here care about this place and about the customer experience.
For breakfast I got the Morningside Skillet with scrambled eggs. This was served in a small cast iron skillet filled with has browns, breakfast sausage, bacon, green peppers, white onions, and mushrooms, topped with scrambled eggs. Top this with habanero sauce-they have a bottle on each table- and it’s a delicious spicy meal. They give you a lot of food in these skillets!
The coffee was hot and fresh. They provide raw sugar on each table and that’s what I mix in my coffee. The whole wheat toast was toasted near perfect and the packaged butter was easy to spread on the toast.
Our server was awesome, friendly, professional, prompt and always came at the right time to refill our coffee. She was and still is amazing asset to this place.
Will definitely return the next time I’m in the area!

Nicr little breakfast spot in lisle. Servinh everything from omelettes, to skillets, to steaks, french toast and some deaserts. Prices are average for the area with a breakfast costing about 15.00+. I got the greek skillet ad usual and it nevrr dissappoints. Servers are friendly and the food vomes pretty quick.
