Reviews
First off the restaurant seemed very clean and we had no wait time. As soon as we sat down our waitress asked us what we wanted to drink. We just ordered regular coffee. Which as someone who drinks a lot of Colombian coffee was ok at best. Nothing to write home about but I am also a coffee snob.
They took our order and my friend got the BFG burrito, my wife the chimichanga and myself the avocado bacon omelette.
Starting with the avocado bacon omelette. Overall I really liked it. It wasn’t a huge omelette which I am fine with. The flavor was good. The avocado is more smashed up and placed on top. (Can’t call it a complaint but I expected sliced honestly) Had a god taste and didn’t seem old but I expected something different.
Next was the chimichanga which I stole some from my wife. I was impressed it wasn’t just a bunch of tortillas as some places do but was stuffed and honestly I liked it better than my omelette in many ways.
Last is my friend’s burrito and I can’t say how it tasted but she said she liked it a lot and was overall impressed. Was huge though and she took 1/2 it home.
The service was really good the entire time and our waitress was attentive to us.
So comes down to the price vs the food quality and i say it is worth it. It’s not an overly expensive place but not the cheapest either. Flavors were good and service also was. Coffee well not many coffees here will stand up to my snobness let’s face it. If you never tried Morning Story give it a shot. I will be retuning to try more items for sure!
1st time visit for a breakfast meeting.
Very nice and clean restaurant as we walked in and fortunately it was not too busy upon opening so we got a table right away.
Since this was a meeting we took a long amount of time before actually ordering our meal, but our server was beyond patient with us and just kept checking in on us every once in awhile until we finally got to our menus.
The menu is just superb. Great standards for a normal breakfast but then all these additional items that are just a bit off center but just seems to hit that interest button for what can be a great taste.
Once our server found out it was our 1st time, they promptly brought a signature cinnamon type roll – which was just amazing to look at (yes, picture taken and put on Social Media) and even better to taste.
I had the breakfast chimichanga, which yes, I have never heard of before, and yes, it was great and hit the spot.
I will definitely be returning since there are a number of items on their menu that I would like to try.
While we were there for an extended time, the staff was very accommodating.
Dishes. They were flexible to my allergy needs and there were vegetarian options as well. Parking is plentiful in the King Soopers lot and it was a bit crowded so suggest you get there early if you don’t want to wait. Service was lovely, not rushed and I really liked that server provided a little pot of extra hot water for my tea. Overall a pleasant breakfast experience. Noise level was moderate
And before I jump into my reviews, you should know they automatically put a 20% tip on your bill, which is sad because our waitress was never around, half our orders were wrong and we had to start sharing water because we couldn’t get anyone’s attention.
Cinnamon roll: 2/10
☕️ Iced Coffee flight: 0/10 (it was garbage. None of them were good and that’s saying it lightly. Everyone at the table tried them and no one was happy.
Vanilla: there’s no way. It didn’t taste like vanilla at all and it was literally a watered down espresso
Caramel: thank goodness for some flavor but this one doesn’t make up for how poorly they were made
Mocha: I’m not a huge fan of mocha to begin with but this was the worst one I’ve had. It was 100% bitter but not even coffee bitter, so it tasted like they gave us watered down dark chocolate powder to try
Hazelnut: this was their seasonal flavor and it’s a bummer because most of us are allergic to hazelnut so next time I’ll need to make sure to ask what the seasonal flavor is beforehand
Upgraded loaded fries: 8/10
Vegan coconut chia cup: 8/10
Morning story classic: 8/10
Oh and I was surprised by their bathrooms. They are only one person, so you wait in the hall until it’s free, which can cause a backup into the restaurant space. But they aren’t gender specific, so it’s one line for everyone.
Didn’t disappoint at all but the sriracha bacon definitely stood out as the others had very good flavor but much less pronounced.
The French toast was a lot for one person and should probably be shared. Sausage was decent but nothing to write home about.
Overall the service was friendly and quick and the coffee was good. Recommend
