Formerly McClain’s Bakery, Morning Fog Bakery & Café is absolutely fabulous. From the moment you walk in, the staff is welcoming and genuinely kind, and the food and coffee drinks are simply delicious.

Their seasonal drink, the Hellfire Club Cold Brew, is both fun and fantastic—bold, flavorful, and memorable. Grace, our cashier, was an absolute delight and made spot-on recommendations that did not disappoint.

It can get pretty busy, which is really the only downside, but honestly it’s worth it. Morning Fog is easily one of the best breakfast spots in Lawrence. Everything is incredibly fresh, thoughtfully made, and consistently delicious—truly pitch perfect.

I also have a special connection to this place. When it was still McClain’s, my boyfriend surprised me with a birthday cake from here, and it made my day so special. Moments like that make this bakery feel even more meaningful to me.

Great food, wonderful people, and a business that clearly cares about the community. I absolutely love what they do here.
