Reviews
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere set the tone, elegant, upscale, and refined without feeling stiff.
The lighting was warm, the décor modern and polished, and almost everyone was dressed in elegant attire, which made perfect sense for such a fancy dining experience. It felt like the kind of place where you naturally want to dress up and enjoy a special night out.
The service was exceptional. The waiters were so nice, attentive, and professional throughout the entire evening. They explained dishes clearly, checked in at the perfect times without being intrusive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Their level of professionalism really elevated the whole experience.
Now for the food, absolutely delicious.
We started with the sticky ribs, which were tender, flavorful, and perfectly glazed. They had that balance of savory and slightly sweet that makes you want to savor every bite. The house fried rice was comforting but elevated, rich in flavor and beautifully cooked.
The whole duck was a standout. The presentation alone was impressive, and the meat was perfectly cooked, crispy skin with juicy, flavorful meat inside. The miso black cod was buttery and delicate, practically melting in your mouth, with that signature umami depth that makes it unforgettable.
We also ordered the 16oz rib-eye steak, and it was cooked beautifully, tender, well-seasoned, and satisfying. Even with so many dishes, everything felt intentional and well-executed.
To finish, we had the dessert that steals the show, the chocolate-covered ice cream sphere where they pour fire over the ball of chocolate. Watching the flames melt through the chocolate shell was such a dramatic and fun experience. Once cracked open, the ice cream inside was smooth and perfectly balanced, a sweet and exciting way to end the meal.
Our total tab came out to around $380, which reflects the premium quality of the food, the presentation, the outstanding service, and the overall fine dining experience. It’s definitely a splurge, but for a special occasion or a nice night out in Waikiki, it’s worth it.
Overall, Morimoto Asia Waikiki delivered incredible food, beautiful presentation, professional and kind service, and a pleasant upscale environment. We left full, impressed, and already talking about what we’d order next time.
Highly recommend – request table outside for best seating ambiance! Great for larger groups.
We went for New Year’s Eve with our family and we had the best night ever.
They have the best service; they are so nice and friendly. The water guy made our night better; he was very attentive and always happy. Waiters are very professional and very knowledgeable about the menu. Food is a 10 out of 10. We are coming back to try more food
Thanks for everything. Happy New Year 2026!
Food was lovely, duck was great, everything is a winner. Venue is well presented
Good spot for date night or special occasion.
Worth the spend
Quick food overview.
Get the Sticky ribs… Period. Get 4.
Avoid the Surf and Turf roll… They torch it and then it tastes like the torch. Not worth it. It’s an ok roll. Meh.
Get the Wagyu ribeye It’s not A5, so go medium rare. It’s expensive, but good.
You can’t get the happy hour Saketini in the restaurant, only at the bar. Lycheetini is a great substitute.
Sake flight is fun… But not really worth it.
They have Longboard… Get that.
Was instructed to avoid Pad Thai – I don’t know why…. But you may want to uphold that (or not.)
Green beans went well with the ribeye – recommended.
Dessert… Get the sphere for the show…Get the cheesecake for the taste.
Busser/Food Runner: 5 Stars, Reon always checking on me. Everything came out quickly and much faster than most restaurants. Dirty dishes were picked up in a timely manner. Never had a cluttered table.
Server: 5 stars, Yoon was so professional, informative and helpful. His service was on point and got all my good eats expeditiously. I want him as my server the next time I go back, and it will be soon.
Manager: 5 stars, the manager was helpful. Brought me one of my desserts and did a whole PowerPoint presentation of it. It was nice. First time I ever had someone describe all the ingredients that went into making my dessert. Thank you for that and the great hospitality.
Staff: 10 stars, all the staff greeted me as soon as I came in, any staff member that was near me, said hi and checked if I needed anything . They all gave me a nice farewell when I left. I just wanted to hug everyone because they made me feel so at home.
Water: Aqua Pana & Vero water was so good. I almost drank a gallon, no lie.
Ube Cheesecake: 5 stars. Very flavorful and well presented.
Chocolate Sphere: 5 stars, it had cake and ice cream inside of it with some berries on the side and macnut and crunchie balls inside. So yummy.
Sticky ribs: 5 star, savory with a little sweetness to it. So tender. Nom nom nom.
Pad Thai: 5 stars they sell shrimp pad Thai but let me have it as a chicken version. That was really good. First time having it and I’ll get it again.
house fried rice: Five stars, it was a family size portion but felt light on my belly. I loved it.
Pork Gyoza: 5 stars, it is pan fried which is different from the deep fried version I’ve had elsewhere. I likey likey. I recommend this.
Ribeye Steak: 5 Stars. oMGGGGG it was so so good. I got it medium. It was 16oz but felt like double that. Of course I got rice with it. It came on a bed of veggies. It came with some sauce on the side which was also good. Everything was just so darn good at this place.
Malasada and ice cream: 5 Stars, the malasada are freshly made so it was nice and hot. It came with whip cream and banana foster sauce. I added the ice cream for extra pizzaz.
The ambiance was perfect. Definitely a vibe. Thank you to Iron Chef Morimoto, Manager lady, Server Yoon, Busser Reon and all the Morimoto Staff. See you guys soon. Mahalo
