That said, we came on a Friday night and the restaurant was clearly very understaffed, which created a lot of chaos. The staff were doing their absolute best and still managed to provide great service considering what they were working with, but it was obvious they were overwhelmed.
The issue didn’t seem like the workers, it felt more like poor management and lack of proper staffing support during a busy time. The food was incredible, but the experience could be so much better with a stronger management team and more employees scheduled. I’d definitely come back for the sushi, but I hope they fix the staffing and organization.
If you’ve had Hiro’s Asian Bistro and Masa Sushi Princeton, this place is on the same level.
Price wise, it was quite affordable for $23.99/person. There was a great selection of appetizers, soup, upon, ramen, sushi, sashimi, and rolls. The rolls were average tasting but did have a different variety compared to other places. This is the first place that had a cooked salmon roll topped with raw salmon. Definitely a different taste which had different layers to it. The sashimi was sliced a bit too thick for our taste and we would of preferred it to cut much thinner.
Service was great and our empty plates were removed promptly. Although this is based on the fact that it wasn’t all that busy. Overall, just an average place for sushi but for the price, it’s worth a try.
Excellent atmosphere, service, and music.
AYCE details: 1 hour limit, surcharge for excess wasted food.
Highly recommend
After 5 years of being away, I was in the area and stopped in here again, and WOW. Like OMG WOW has it changed.
Now instead of real dishes, they bring everything you order in to-go paper trays. I don’t know who decided that customers wouldn’t care, but they should be fired. In my opinion, the paper not only cheapens the entire experience but is 1000x worse for the environment and makes it feel like you’re not welcome to stay.
I am extremely disappointed Mori. I understand COVID happened and you’re forced to adapt for to-go orders, but to serve in-restaurant customers with paper dishes while charging full fare is definitely going to make me forget to come back next time.
That aside, the food was still fairly decent and the staff was friendly. The restaurant was empty at 5pm on a Saturday.
