We started ordering from the regular menu because happy hour was ending soon. The service was really, really bad. IT IS NOT BUSY AT ALL TOO. I’m not sure if the lady was also a server, but she was giving us attitude when she brought our food to the table. I reached out to grab the plate since there was no space on the table because my friends were talking, and she said “excuse me” in a rude way while I was trying to help make space. That was such bad service. Our main server didn’t even check on us.
We ordered skewers — they were really bad. Three small skewers for almost $17? So small! Our bill was $200, and the only good food was the sashimi. The soft shell crab was super small too and OILY! So awful. The karaage squid is cold and looks like they just reheat it.
We ordered cheesecake and ice cream for the birthday girl, but after 10 minutes it still hadn’t come out. We asked if it was coming, and the server went to the kitchen and brought it out right away. I guess it was just sitting there? We said we wanted to cancel it, but I guess they didn’t understand. As soon as they put it on the table, we paid the bill and left.
The lady who was giving us attitude suddenly became apologetic, which was funny. There was also a guy we complained to about the skewers, and he didn’t even apologize. His face suddenly turned red as he was getting angry lol
This place is really bad. 0 STARS!
Can’t believe I haven’t dined here yet. It was a first-time visit recently for dinner, and it was a tasty and pleasant experience. We made reservations and were seated promptly after checking in.
We sat in a roomy booth, and the atmosphere was pleasant and not too busy yet. We looked over the diverse menu and ordered drinks, a few izakaya items, and entrées.
My favorites this visit:
– Pork skewers
– Veggie skewers
– Unagi skewer
– Chicken thigh with green onion skewer
– Bacon-wrapped asparagus
– Cold Soba noodle entrée
– Matcha Ice Cream
The rib-eye steak, which looked really delicious, had top-notch presentation. You can also cook the steak to your liking. The curry udon with donkatsu was also well enjoyed. The chicken wing with salt skewer was the only disappointment, as it was a little overcooked. The prices for the izakaya were surprising, and the cost can add up when ordering a lot.
The staff overall was kind and attentive. Our food arrived in a timely manner, even as the restaurant started to get busier. We didn’t feel rushed or have to wait too long for our orders.
The atmosphere shifted from calm and chill to loud and active as the evening progressed, and the lighting dimmed. The conversations began to grow louder throughout the dining area, which was to be expected. Music also filled the air.
A solid 4.5 stars for this first visit.
Every piece was beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared. The fish was incredibly fresh — buttery toro, delicate scallop with just the right touch of yuzu kosho, sweet salmon, perfectly tender octopus — each bite was balanced and clean. You can really tell the chef respects the ingredients.
I especially appreciated the variety and pacing. From the bright citrus notes to the richer cuts, nothing felt heavy or repetitive. Even the sides — the seaweed salad, pickles, and fresh wasabi — complemented the sushi perfectly.
If you’re looking for a true neighborhood gem with quality that rivals higher-end spots, Mori delivers. Authentic, unpretentious, and seriously good.
Highly recommend the omakase, cream udon, and okonomoyaki. I’ll definitely be back and recommend to ALL MY FRIENDS!
Super casual spot with welcoming service and the huge bonus of staying open until midnight Tuesday through Saturday. Perfect for late-night cravings when everywhere else is closed. Found my new favorite spot—see you guys next week!
The best yakitori dishes we chose were the ribeye beef cap and the quail eggs. The beef was flavorful and smoky and the eggs were not overdone.
Extra plus for the clean high chair for our babt- they also provided a children’s plate for her that was so cute. The service was also good. We will definitely be back.
The restaurant is clean. I mean clean, clean. The decor is very minimalistic and appealing. The wood tables are gorgeous!
The service is extraordinary polite and the servers are always near by with a smile eager to help or answer any questions.
The food itself did not disappoint! Each dish came out hot and you can tell the care they take to make each plate for you. Each dish was not overly seasoned so you can taste main ingredients originally flavor.
What we had:
Wing with salt
Wing with spicy
Chicken liver
Rob eye cap
Pork belly
Jumbo shrimp
Baby squid
Ginkgo nuts
Shishito peppers
Grilled rib eye steak (so tender!!)
Sake
Fun to order from their extensive review and happy hour and share with friends.
Their uni cream udon is delicious and creamy. Their sashimi platter is great to share – their uni especially was so creamy and fresh!!
Unfortunately, I felt that this was one of those situations where the aesthetic value of a restaurant trumped its food quality. Although the ambiance was cozy and delightful, I found the food to be a bit lacking. We started with salmon sashimi. I wanted to try the Ootoro special, but they were all out of toro. I don’t think I missed out though – the salmon was a little fishy. Not terrible, but definitely not the freshest. For yakitori, we got the pork belly and chicken thigh, both of which were a little bland. They give you salt at your table but… I don’t know – I’ve never liked that excuse. I actually did really like the ebi mayo though. It had a good sauce. For our entrees, we got katsudon and yakisoba, neither of which I was too impressed by. They just felt a bit mundane to me – I’ve definitely had better. Honestly, I wouldn’t have minded paying what I did if the food was a little better, but everything just kinda fell a bit flat for me.
The service was honestly pretty good. Our servers and host were all very nice and attentive. But I just didn’t enjoy the food very much… it was kinda bland. And I was a bit tipsy too.. bar food always tastes better when you’ve had a drink. If it wasn’t good while I was drinking up, I can’t imagine how it would be sober.
