We had a large family gathering for a memorial. The restaurant is in the hotel where we were staying, and really great. Food delicious. Wait staff helpful and pleasant. Then the dining room manager showed up. We were denied a seat the last day for breakfast, altho there were many empty tables. So one of my relatives offered her seat, which really upset the manager who said we shd have had reservations. She continued to walk by us grumbling about people who dont have reservations. The wait staff served us anyway, and I noticed no one came in after we left. Our whole group decided to eat elsewhere for the remaining meals.

The hostess seems a little stressed and had a big to do based around whether or not people had made reservations before showing up. Saw a guy walk out on her because he didn’t want to deal with her parade. Experienced hostesses would know before a guest showed what the availability is, the place had many empty tables. Outside of that the food was awesome. The poached eggs on the Benedict were a little over cooked, but it still tasted good. My $16 dollar slices of toast were very very small and my daughters pancakes were large enough to feed two people. Over $70 on breakfast for 3, I’d expect a bit more out of the place. The waitress was nice but wasn’t on top of our table like I’d expect. Overall I was sitting in a spot where the air conditioner was blowing right on me and I had to wear my jacket all through breakfast. The food tasted good enough for us to want visit again, hopefully this visit was just a spoof and the next one will be better.

Lovely brunch. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles! The Italian breakfast bowl was mighty tasty. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Check out the old elevator too

Excellent restaurant at the Middlebury Inn. Service is quick, responsive, and friendly. If you love braised beef, try the steak and ale. Pasta dishes are also very good. Good place for a couple or a larger group. Reservations recommended.

We had a wonderful dining experience while staying at the Inn. Cameron was our server for breakfast and Holden was for dinner. Both gentlemen were amazing and the food was phenomenal as well. It was a very busy night but we were lucky to get seated quickly so we are glad we took the front desks advice to make reservations.

We were visiting Vermont because my wife had some work in the area. I came along and worked remotely that week. We had the opportunity to eat dinner here one of the evenings. The staff was really lovely and really wanted to take care of us. The food was pretty good. We had a lovely evening overall

Great meal at Morgan’s Tavern! We saw the Very positive TripAdvisor reviews and were very happy with both the service and the meals. Almost all menu items are locally sourced and the Sunrise Burger with onion rings was delicious. Cooked perfectly with a great crust and flavor. Definitely worth the time to find and enjoy a meal. My wife had a turkey reuben with freshly made sweet potato fries and that was also great. The fries has the perfect mix of crunch and softness to let the sweet potato flavor come through.

The traditional breakfast was perfectly prepared. Hash browns were nicely crisp, eggs were poached exactly as I like them. Decor is nicely vintage, with beautiful wallpaper.

Unfortunately had the worst experience here. Our waitress, Terri, was very kind and hospitable. Can’t say anything negative about the service. However, can’t say anything good about the food experience. My friend and I ordered a cup of soup that came out looking like unappetizing baby food, and was completely cold. We paid $15 for food that was simply inedible, cancelled the entree order, and left.

What a pleasant surprise. I knew the atmosphere would be Old World cozy and classy – but didn’t know it would be warm and down to earth (not classic and cold as some similar places might be).
But I didn’t expect the menu to be so creative and filled with reasonably priced surprises. The unexpected twists and variety of different foods for all tastes went way beyond what one might expect from a hotel restaurant.
Plus, we happened upon half price for wine bottle evening, which was another pleasant surprise.
Yet none of that would have been as satisfying had the service not been so friendly, again, down to earth and professional.
It was one of the most pleasant experiences at a restaurant I can remember and would be worth a trip even from Burlington to enjoy.
