About Us | Morena’s Mexican Cuisine Morena’s Mexican Cuisine is a family-owned and operated restaurant, proudly brought to you by the Rosales family. Since opening our first location in Rancho Mission Viejo in 2019, we have expanded to four locations, including Huntington Beach near Bella Terra, Riverside (Tava Center off Arlington Ave.), and Lake Forest (formerly Mimi’s, conveniently located off the freeway). Our menu was carefully crafted by Chef Aurelio Sanchez, whose passion for authentic Mexican cuisine began at the age of 12. Inspired by his travels throughout Mexico, Chef Aurelio has developed a diverse and flavorful menu that stays true to traditional Mexican roots. He and Juan Rosales Sr. both hail from Ezequiel Montes, Querétaro

I ordered Carne Asada And shrimp.
And Sizzling chicken Fajitas. I personally love Mexican food. So my expectations are always high from Mexican Restaurants.
Food was good. Service was excellent.
Portion of food is generous.
As I mentioned about my expectations.

Unfortunately, the food fell a bit flat for Mexican cuisine—muted flavors and a lukewarm temperature that made it feel reheated rather than freshly prepared. On the plus side, the menu offered plenty of gluten-free options.

We had a great first visit to this Mexican restaurant and were truly impressed. Our server, Abraham, was outstanding, definitely a five-star service!
He was friendly, attentive, and very responsive. We ordered the house margaritas, but requested them without sugar, and he was happy to adjust them for us.
We also tried their margaritas made with higher-quality tequila, and it was a noticeable upgrade,definitely worth it!
For food, I had the mole chicken, which was delicious, the chicken was tender and had a nice barbecued flavor. We also shared empanadas and a quesadilla, both of which were tasty. My friend had the spicy margarita with Patrón and absolutely loved it.
The ambiance was clean and inviting. We learned that the restaurant had been renovated last year, and it shows. There’s even a taco bar that we didn’t get to try this time, so we’re saving that for our next visit.
Overall, a really enjoyable experience. Great service, delicious food and drinks, and a lovely atmosphere. Its nice to try!

Nice presentation of food very fair in pricing and all in all a wonderful experience. Had asada with garlic shrimp and the plate was cleaned. Shrimp were large and presented on a separate plate. We will be going again soon for sure

We tried Morena’s out today for lunch and it was really great all the way around!
First off, it’s really clean and airy. Real nice atmosphere.
We were greeted right away and taken care of by their very friendly staff.
Our food came fast, hot and as described! My husband got the Chili Verde and I got the Chicken Wet Burrito.
We look forward to coming back and trying breakfast here too!

We were a group of 4 and we all loved our food. Chips and salsas are of the hook . My favorite is the green one. The chicken in the mole is delicious, very moist. The Ensalada Tostada de Camaron was amazing. The grilled prawns were huge and perfectly grilled. My Chile relleno is one of the most delicious I have ever had. My husband’s Enchiladas Divorciadas were meaty, cheesy and moist. We all loved the Frijoles de la Olla. My friends all loved their Margaritas.
The atmosphere needs a little help and the music needed to be a little lower. We all agreed that their bar is cool.
