Went to dinner and based on the reviews I expected to have a halfway decent experience.
The hosts were friendly and given it was a Friday night it was nice to be seated right away. Our server came promptly and gave us waters, but outside of then taking our order for our meal and bringing the check not once were we checked on. It was not good service at all. If the restaurant had been really busy I would have understood but he passed our table several times to go to tables around us and never asked how we were, how the food was, or to fill up our waters. It was disappointing.
Our meal cost $86 before tip and it was not worth the money.
To started we ordered the Burrata: my boyfriend really enjoyed this and I liked it. It was a solid burrata dish. I wasn’t a huge fan of the bread they served with it but I would order it again.
Dinner:
I ordered the pork schnitzel. This was a 2.5/5 stars. The pork was slightly overcooked, the spatzel was cold and taste list (not salted at all), same with the carrots, they also had little flavor other than oil. Again they were not seasoned. And the mushroom gravy was good, but it was thicker than it should be for a sauce. The bread which came with the meal was nice. I try to order food I can’t make at home when I go out to eat and I could have made this better.
My boyfriend ordered a ribeye, with mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli and green beans. Similar to my dish the veggies and potato had no seasoning at all. Had our server ever checked on us we would have asked for salt and pepper. The mashed potatoes tasted more like a baked potato which was flattened. The steak was cooked how we requested it but it lacked a hard char on the outside.
We ordered a Mac and cheese side to share. It was creamy, and the noodles were not overcooked which was nice but we felt they put too much nutmeg in the béchamel.
Being left underwhelmed by dinner we did not stay for desert.
I have no issues paying $100 for a night out but this was not a $100 meal.

Moose Preserve Bar & Grill has an amazing team. We had a group of 11, and they handled it seamlessly — it felt like we were a table of six. The walleye tacos were fantastic. Great service and a great experience overall.

What a delicious and affordable dinner. I love the atmosphere, the staff, and the food. I wouldn’t change anything. I loved the jerk chicken pasta and my boyfriend loved the walleye tacos. We will definitely come back and recommend this to anyone!!!

The restaurant had an incredibly cozy atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. The decor was unique, with moose skulls adorning the walls, giving it a rustic, Bass Pro Shop kind of vibe. To make it even better, the space was surrounded by photos of dogs, which added such a warm and personal touch. It felt like a place made for both comfort and character.
As for the food—absolutely incredible! I was genuinely shocked at how good the chicken wings were. I have a longtime favorite spot for wings, but this restaurant completely blew them out of the water. The wings were perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with so much flavor that I found myself wanting to order another round. Every bite was better than the last.
The service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. It’s rare to find a place that nails atmosphere, food, and service all at once, but this spot did it effortlessly. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food in a cozy, welcoming setting.

This place was so cool! It reminded me of my favorite childhood restaurant in my hometown. It’s built like a cabin and has a wilderness attire. The menu has a wide variety of food, including burgers, sandwiches, Mac n cheese, and trout. I tried wagyu beef for the first time in my life and it was probably the best cheeseburger I had ever had in my life! The Cowboy Mac was amazing as well, which had BBQ pulled pork on it. We will definitely be back!

Meet friends for lunch. I ordered a beef burger medium and whilenit was well done it was still very good and beer was cold. My husband had the walleye fingers which he said were really good. We took home a slice if the cheesecake which we split and that was really good. Waitress was nice and did a good job although a few of us had to ask a couple of time for things like a side of mayo and BBQ sauce. Loved the atmosphere!

We were there for almost an hour and a half. As soon as our food was delivered we had to have it boxed up so we could leave. We had tickets to be somewhere in Pontiac. It took well over half an hour for our waitress to take our order and then took 40 minutes for a salad and a roast beef sandwich with french fries to come out. It is probably my worst experience at a restaurant. I did not ask to speak to a manager, however the manager did come out as our check was being delivered to our table and took it. Dinner was on him. He understood that we had waited far too long already and our waitress was astute enough to get him first. I don’t blame our waitress. I believe her hostess failed her miserably as did her kitchen. She had a two very large parties as well as other tables and should not have been sat our table. So while this experience was very very poor, I don’t blame the waitress and did make sure to tip her and I don’t necessarily blame the restaurant and I appreciate the manager taking care of the bill, but I won’t be going out of my way to go back.

Looking for something nostalgic and delicious? The Moose Preserve has to be one of the coolest places I have ever eaten at. Simultaneously reminded me of my childhood family trips, an uncle’s man cave formally known as a wreck room and a destination spot that you would take your family to. The team could not have been friendlier and more professional. In addition to having excellent food, it’s refreshing to be reminded that business owners actually care about their guests. I highly recommend this spot. If you want delicious food and Top not Service in a really cool atmosphere go to the Moose Preserve today. God Bless America! God Bless Blue & Gold!
