We stopped here on our way up to Portland Maine. This is a quick and easy spot to grab lunch. They had a good diverse menu with build your own options. There is limited seating but there was plenty of space for the six of us to eat. All the food was good and the sweet potato fries were delicious. I would come back to this place again and I’d recommend you stop in and check it out too!

31 May 2025 Moose Burger’s Last Day

As of June 1, 2025 Moose Burger is permanently closed.

The crew will move to Chef Miller’s restaurant “State Line Lobster” on Rt. 1 Kittery, ME, so everyone will remain gainfully employed. Kudos to Chef Owner Jason Miller.

Sadly, the great burgers will not follow to the seafood restaurant. Only so much can be properly produced in a kitchen.
Head to Harbor Burgers in the Kittery Mall for your next quality burger.

It was a great loss to the York, ME area when First Hill Restaurant was sold.
Fortunately, the talented Jason Miller has opened Moose Burger. The lot is situated so you can enjoy a ‘car hop’ experience. Just get the food yourself, and bring it back to the car and relax.

The burgers are freshly ground and formed; and you will note the difference! Are you in the mood for dogs, order a jumbo hotdog your way? Maybe a crispy chicken sandwich might be to your liking. Now, you can wash down your delicacy with an oat milk shake or local beer.
Finish your meal with “Coppa Magica” gelato. Burger, shake, gelato; does life get any better?

Well, yes, if you want Maine’s specialty– lobster.

Oh, how can you come to the seacoast without a lobster roll. Jason’s attached “Trapped” is for you.

Call a friend and meet at Moose Burger or Trapped. Enjoy!

Absolutely terrible. I liked the name “moose burger” but the food was very sub par
The sand which barley held together, the burger was a horse meat patty. Service was nice but not good food. Prices were too high. Meat was dry, the burger didn’t hold together, I wouldn’t recommend for burgers. Their hotdogs might be good though

We stopped here passing through on a road trip on a whim and it was so delicious! The moose burger was crunchy, buttery, and overall awesome. Fries were great and came out hot and fresh! It has a covered outdoor seating area that is dog friendly. Staff is super friendly and inviting. Would definitely recommend stopping in for a bite!

Moose Burger is one of the most quality restaurants I’ve ever been to. I had this on a trip to Maine and I can’t stop talking about it to my Hudson Valley, New York family. I cannot wait to go back for their brussels sprouts And their iced tea and their burgers. Everything is just delicious there and quality ingredients. they put real effort into the food and you can’t fake “quality!”

Bobby + = ❤️

Edit: I made a return! To the actual location this time
There will definitely be a third, fourth……..❤️

Hidden gem, worth a detour! Everything I had here was spectacular. I went with a classic burger for my first visit, although I will venture to some of the more creative combos when I return. The hot honey chicken tenders were top knotch and the sriracha honey brussels were delectable as well. My only regret is that I didn’t come sooner!

Tasty little burger spot in York. A step up in quality and flavor than Wild Willy’s. The big moose had a great balance of sweet and savory. Patties cooked to medium, no other options indicated.

Spicy chicken sandwich was a big and juicy fried piece of goodness. Great flavor and texture. Maybe just a small step below sweet chx in terms of flavor/quality.

Asked for my sweet potato fries extra crispy, they delivered perfectly. Paired nicely with the curry aioli.

I’ll be back for more!

Food is absolutely top notch. Everything we had was superb. Only tiny concern was that the outside counter wasn’t finished and unfinished wood is impossible to sanitize. Not a big deal though.

I went to a Moose Burger with my wife and two kids after a day at the beach specifically for their dairy free milk shake. While we were their we ordered the moose burger and popcorn chicken and fries for the kids.

My wife is lactose intolerant and enjoyed the milkshake. The kids rally enjoyed the fresh cut and breaded chicken. The burger was excellent, the pickled onions and mustard aioli were a great flavor combination.
