Food was great. Ordered Sausage, Brisket, Chicken, Coleslaw, BBQ Baked Beans, Cornbread. Chicken was the so good! We would love to give this restaurant five stars but they were out of several food items. We do recommend this restaurant for BBQ lovers! Just get there early or expect some items to be sold out.

A couple days ago my wife Pam and her sisters met for lunch so I took the opportunity to dash over to Moo’s BBQ and treat myself to a generous scoop of pulled pork, three bones of baby back pork ribs and a side of fabulous BBW baked beans. That pulled pork literally melts in your mouth, it’s really that tender. The ribs are very meaty and every bit as juicy and tender. I opted for the Texas Toast instead of the cornbread, it was nice and buttery, really tasty. I particularly like a 50/50 mix of Moo’s sweet and hot rib sauce, has a very nice flavor and just a bit of heat, a just right balance. This is the kind of meal you just hate to see the last bite coming, or even worse getting full before done.

We stopped in while on the last leg of a long of our road trip and were pleasantly surprised. The cashier was very friendly! The decor was cute. The pulled pork was great but the brisket we had was a little dry. The restroom would use some attention. We would definitely stop in again!

On my way driving to California I found this gem of a restaurant a few meters off highway 80. The ribs tasted so good, they were cooked to perfection and spiced up perfectly to allow me to taste the smoky flavor & aroma of the wood that was used to cook them. The potato salad was amazing too, it was the perfect sidekick to the ribs. The place was super clean and the ladies tending the place were really cool people. Also, really fast service, I was really amazed by that too.

We stopped by Moo’s BBQ tonight while driving out East of Des Moines. It’s a neat little place right off 80. Looks like it was an old fast food joint in a previous life, but they’ve changed the decor and made it a counter service style restaurant.

First picture is of the Two Meat and One side platter of Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork and Bacon Mac and Cheese.

Second picture is of the Two Meat and One side platter of Burnt Ends, Brisket and Bacon Mac and Cheese.

Pros:
– Good variety of choices for dinners including platters, burgers and sandwiches.
– The meats were tasty and plentiful. Neither of us finished our platters.
– Conveniently right off Interstate 80 and it has a drive thru.
– Funny decor signs and you’re given a “Call Name” instead of a number. We were Jack and Jill.
– A couple of different bbq sauce choices. I liked the coffee one (picture 3).
– Burnt Ends weren’t “burnt” to the point of being bitter or tough. They were huge though! Not bite sized like they usually are.

Cons:
– Not a ton of seating and really wouldn’t be appropriate for huge groups.
– The brisket was a mix of tough and tender. (It’s hard to get brisket right so I wouldn’t be super critical of this.)
– The Bacon Mac and Cheese was super bland. I would not get it again.

Stopped here off of 80, and was really pleasantly surprised! A fun, quirky atmosphere with movie title order names and a good crowd inside, as well as some good food. The brisket was great and we loved the sauces (hot BBQ and Mojo!). Staff was generous and welcoming, I recommend it to all!

First time at Moo’s and it was awesome! Very clean, with fun decor. Staff was super friendly. Dined in, but they also offer carry out and a drive through option. I ordered the “Butter My Brisket” with a side of ” Bacon Mac n’ Cheese.” YUM! The sandwich was: smoked brisket & onions, BBQ sauce, cheese sauce on Texas toast. Definitely recommend Moo’s. Will be back!

ALWAYS great food! Great BBQ, burgers and now, breakfast! I recommend the burnt ends, but make sure to check out the daily specials. Moo’s often has new items they’re trying out. The burgers ate great and the sides are great too. Recently they started breakfast. I tried it yesterday abs it was delicious too!

A hidden gem. We arrived here on a whim as I made the mistake of leaving the DM metro area around 11 AM heading east on I-80 (without taking into account a couple of very hungry kiddos). The staff was very friendly and the food was equally amazing. Best mistake ever, and the best BBQ I’ve had in years.
