Love, love, love this place. I know nothing about wine. I just go in there and ask them to give me something (I like the $30+ price point), and I’m never disappointed. Since I wouldn’t be able to choose good wine on my own, I know that I can still serve good wine at a party if I pick it up from Moore Brothers.

First time there for a great tasting. Great selection of wines with incredible knowledgeable staff. Attention to who they source from – excellent!

A nearly former Chez Panisse Restaurant Alum. Nearly because he was hired and never went to work but instead helped build this East Coast empire based on some influence of Kermit Lynch’s wine shop in Berkeley California. This is the real deal wine importer (refrigerated container importation)with affordable and collectable wines from mainly France with Italy and other European wine regions. There are also beautiful domestic wines here. Go here if you like fresh wine that’s still alive.

Great place to pick up well made wines for all budgets, be sure to stock up during their sales. They also do tastings on Saturdays which I usually find 2-3 new to me bottles.

Not sure why I haven’t sung their praises yet but yo listen up PHILLY – this is where you wine right! And if you are from out of town don’t miss this Oenophile Shangri-La. Tastings are always happening and knowledge imparted by staff. Small producers promoted and liquid stories unveiled. Philly and South Jersey have the second highest popular of BYO restaurants next to Chicago so use this retail store to find a bottle to dine with or go hear to stock your next social gathering or to add to your collection.

Overall it is a great experience. Love their wines, tasting table, staff, location, provenance and even prices. I have had identical wines purchased from other stores and Moore’s are better. Storage makes a difference. I still go to Total Wine in Claymont for special wines not available at Moore Bros but 95% of my wines are from Moore’s

Moore Brothers is as close to perfection as exists. They do pretty much everything just right and the wines are just exceptional. I’d love for them to recycle corks and I wish that the adhesive on the price labels that they use was a little less tenacious, but these are very minor things. Seeing the new Surgeon General warning about the health impacts of alcohol, some will surely want to curtail their consumption. I’d really love to see more good wines available in bottles smaller than 750 ml, because once open, a bottle should be consumed pretty quickly, before the taste changes for the worse. This, of course, is a larger issue for the wine industry to address.
Thanks for correcting me about the corks and thanks for accepting them ! No worries about the labels; with a little Goof Off, it isn’t too onerous. I’ll look forward to seeing more of your beautiful wines in 375 ml bottles in the future ! 🙂

Great place to buy wine, their wine is organized by countries, all bottles have a scan code that tells you about the wine.

Selection and staff are top notch. You can get an education or just a great recommendation any time you go. As a bonus, wine friendly temperature controlled building is a treat through some of our recent summers.
