We have been here several times and the first few were great! Excellent, kind service. Food is amazing! Unfortunately the last 2 times we have gone has been terrible. Time before last we just thought it was a fluke to have bad service from the bartenders but the last time sealed the deal for us.
We sat at the bar, as usual, and ordered appetizer, drinks and meals. It took a while for the bartender to get to us, even though it was lunch time and there were 2 of them behind the bar to assist maybe 5 other people, excluding us. We were helped more by the food runner /kitchen staff than our actual bartender. Ran out of drinks and ate the appetizer without a drink. The food runner is the one who finally just got us sweet teas because the 2 bartenders were too busy flirting with 2 customers together at the bar. I wish I was kidding but they literally sat there talking those 2 gentlemen our entire time there – minus making our first drinks, taking our order and then delivering the check, which included 4 sweet teas for 2 people .. make that make sense. The rest of the time, the kitchen staff helped us.
I get they want to make their money but what they also did in the process was run off long term, steady customers, who live 5 minutes up the road, who tip at least 30% every time and like to dine out.
We had never had any of the menu items we didn’t like. The food truly is great, especially for “bar” food. It’s sad they are allowing poor customer service to diminish their value.
The menu is pretty small and not a lot of vegetarian options other than a salad.
The fried asparagus should be peeled because if it’s not you could get a tough, thick skinned one that makes it hard to enjoy.
So we get to the end of our time there and we asked for our check. (They use a POS system called TOAST). When a restaurant uses TOAST, the owner, say doesn’t want to pay the POS credit card processing fee of 3.5%, so they have the right to pass it along to the customer.
This fee needs to be disclosed on the menu and on the guest check. Cash price always less than credit card price.
Being that it was not on the menu nor on the guest check, the owner decided not to charge the 3.5% processing fee. So kind of them.
Yet you’ll now see a “venue fee” of 5%. That’s 1.5% more than the highest processing fee allowed by TOAST. That’s if you were collecting that fee from the paying customers but obviously the owner is not
But what makes this 5% VENUE FEE interesting is that it was rung up like an open food item with the command to “DO NOT MAKE”.
I have never seen anyone charge a customer a “venue fee” to dine at an establishment . We were the only ones there. No live band. Not a soul other than the employees.
This is very dishonest.
Burger and house fries are delicious and big.
Chicken ceaser wrap amazing.
My aunt got the lamb she said it was delicious..
Chicken wings crispy and hot.
Drinks were on point too.
They also have a pool table and kid friendly.
