The best little gem in Fargo! Moonrise Cafe has some of the kindest staff I’ve ever met who always give the best drink recos (who knew a rosemary honey latte would be my new favourite?). They have incredible scratch made treats, the poptarts are always amazing and they’ve never made something I didn’t like. The breakfast burrito is also my favourite breakfast on the go! Their custom cakes are also phenomenal. I’ve ordered 3 in the past year and every time I get one it blows me away with how gorgeous they are! If you’re looking for amazing coffee, tasty food, and beautiful cakes, this spot has it all!

I usually come here over my lunch hour for my usual sandwich and seasonal drink. This time I was bold and I ordered a custom cake here for my birthday. It truly exceeded all expectations! This cafe has such a lovely vibe and atmosphere. It gives a cozy hole-in-the-wall type of vibe and it is definitely my new favorite coffee shop. The espresso tastes full-bodied and is aromatic, the prices are actually on the lower end for a locally owned shop, and the food is always fantastic. They rotate through many of their pastries, with the Biscoff Cinnamon Roll I tried being an absolute gem. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable and I have never had a bad experience. 10/10 recommend!

The raspberry rose pop tart was so good! The rose frosting complements the tartness of the berry jam.

Stopped in on a Saturday morning and the shop was busy but we waited no more than a few minutes for 3 drinks and a breakfast sandwich! The drinks are fun unique flavors and the breakfast sammie was delicious!

I am obsessed with their kimchi-egg-cheese sandwich. Seriously, I had one yesterday and went right back to have another today. May go again tomorrow. The specialty drinks are outstanding, and the flavors are interesting. Pastries are good, too. Super cute atmosphere. No notes.

I love this place! Their pastries are top-notch. While they’re famous for their homemade pop tarts, I think their scones are the best thing ever! I’m not a coffee drinker, but love their chai lattes. The staff is super friendly and helpful, even when they’re really busy. They made me feel like a “regular” from my very first visit. Highly recommend this place!

I come here all the time for coffee when I am in the area before my nails, but what I’m writing this review for is that I booked them for my cake. I walked into the cafe several months ago and saw this cute cake in the case that was pond/swamp themed with frogs, and my husband LOVES frogs. I get frog pictures 24/7 from this man so I sent him a photo and he said we should book for our wedding cake. We opted for a cute two tier cake that had a bride and groom frog, beyond that I gave creative freedom. So many people commented on how cute and creative of a cake it was and that they loved the frogs. Our photographer also pointed out that they were holding hands + had cutie little details added, and I couldn’t be happier. It was also the best cake I have ever had!

This place honestly blew me away. I was visiting Fargo and was looking for a community cafe with rad vibes to grab lunch on my way out of town. I found that and so much more at Moonrise! I am admittedly obnoxious in my standards for coffee quality, and the cold brew here was absolutely top tier. Full-bodied, velvety texture, rich cocoa notes with an herby finish. It is so easy to make bad cold brew (I have spent $6 on cold brown water or battery acid so many times) and then charge an arm and a leg for it, but these folks are really doing the work. I also got a sandwich, and when I saw they were premade in a case I had low expectations. Do not be fooled! My bacon egg and cheese was phenomenal. It had a delicious dill aioli and a soft custardy egg patty on a housemade roll that was pillowy soft but sturdy enough to hold up and not oversaturate. I also got two cookies to bring home (sea salt chocolate chip and pb oatmeal chocolate chip) and they were giant and soft without being underbaked and had a really nice chew. I loved the place so much I bought a hoodie on my way out! TL;DR I will definitely be returning to Moonrise every time I visit Fargo. Vibes, food, and drink ALL on point!

Not bad but not the best. Love the breakfast burritos and homemade pop tarts. Other items I’ve tried including the cake just weren’t my favorite. I would recommend to check it yourself, you can truly tell they care about what’s best for the business and customers. Most staff are great but a few don’t really talk much, unfortunately.
