This was one of the best BBQ plates I have had in a while! The pulled pork was perfect and their sweet sauce and the Texas sauce was amazing. The southern style green beans were also flawless. The jalapeño mac was a true homemade dish and was soooo good. The seasonal brisket chili stew was super flavorful too! Overall the meal was a 10/10. I 100% recommend stopping by Moonie’s for some delicious BBQ!

Had the opportunity to stop by Moonie’s Texas BBQ after attending the opening day of Falcons training camp. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves—the barbecue is genuinely quite good.

My wife had the pulled pork sandwich, which she said was very moist and flavorful. She also ordered fries and coleslaw, and said the coleslaw was especially good. The fries, however, were not fresh at first, but the staff replaced them without hesitation with a hot, fresh batch straight from the fryer.

I had the brisket sandwich, which was just okay on its own, but their sweet BBQ sauce elevated it to very good. I also had the baked beans, which were unique and included apples—a nice twist. But the real standout of the meal was the Brunswick stew—it was outstanding.

The counter staff was very friendly and happy to suggest sides but did not inform me of the upcharges on the beans or stew. Prices were fair by 2025 standards.

All in all, we had a good visit. If I’m ever in the area and craving barbecue, I’d definitely eat there again. If you’re in Flowery Branch and looking for a BBQ fix, check out Moonie’s Texas BBQ.

Even though the line on Saturday night was long it moved quickly. We ordered our food to go. Once we put in our order the food was done right away. We ordered a pound of well seasoned brisket, large amazingly delicious jalapeno Mac n cheese, best fried okra, freash peach pudding very yummy. Service team was courteous and quick. Great place for BBQ!

If you’re looking for frills and someone to wait on you, this is not the place. Good food fast is another story. I’m not going to lie…I have my faves and I think this place just made the list. I had the pulled pork sandwich, and the meat had a great flavor and virtually no fat. I’m not a sauce girl at all so that meat flavor is important. I don’t like meat that’s really smokey either. Go ahead and cringe guys. I also had the baked beans, which were different. Apples? I really liked that. My husband also had pulled pork and perfect shoestring fries. He said the slaw was good as well. And it all paired perfectly with their half and half tea. Be aware that the lot isn’t big, but there are other options. Especially on a Sunday. We look forward to going back when we’re in the area again.

Amazing sauces! I got the pulled pork sandwich which was awesome but my husband got the plate and got a tiny portion of pulled pork and the ribs were just ok. I would go back for the Carolina sauce alone lol

Whistling Q in downtown Flowery Branch is so much better. I managed a barbecue restaurant for years, and I know when I see a generic barbecue restaurant that’s prices are way too high for the mediocre barbecue that they are serving and that’s Moonies. The brisket is below average and everything else is barely average. The prices have been creeping up for years and are way too expensive for what the dog food is, I mean barbecue go to whistling cues. If I own goonies, I would have an adult/a manager there full-time and not just kids working you’re getting ready to get put out of business. Here’s your warning.

it’s not the worst but it’s not the best. i will say, the brisket sandwich was good after i loaded it was sauce. it was really dry. the sides were the part i didn’t find the best. the baked beans were good, the cream corn was not cream corn. i’ll add a photo. and then my husband got a brisket sandwich , brunswick stew and the macaroni. he said all of his food was great except for the dry sandwich. it’s too pricey for the quality.

My new favorite Texas style BBQ in Georgia! 4 trips within 3 weeks, do I need to say more? Lol. This place steals away our business from Foxes Brothers BBQ, Heirloom, and Community Q (they are all excellent choices). Much better location for folks live in Johns Creek or Duluth. My friends and I love the smoke pork ribs, sausage, brisket, and chicken – awesome flavor and yet tender. Highly recommended!

The BEST brisket we have ever had. We love the
fried okra and creamed corn too. Everything is so good! Only thing is I wish they would make some cobblers instead of puddings for dessert , it wasn’t good. It tasted like pouch pudding …nothing to go home about
